josiah, yeah, I estimated approx $500 in materials to paint this fx, maybe that's not including sandpapers, tape & masking paper, but the bulk of the liquid materials at least... your truck looks cool, love that stuk video

as far as adding projectors to existing headlights, I'm sure it can be done & sealed well enough... headlight capsules are generally vented anyway so there not usually 100% submersible really, but as long as you do a good job resealing the seal you have broken it should be as good as it was....

I have no pictures of the headlights projected on a far wall but I'll keep this in mind next time the opportunity arises to get a shot like that...

as far as your confusion on my back lighting vs front lighting of my screen, my screen is not a conventional LCD that is back lit. it is actually a fully reflective screen, the more light that hits it the brighter it becomes, but by design no light can even pass through the panel so back lighting is not used in a screen like this, instead it is lit from the front, around the edges of the bezel, this is enough light to see it fine at night & during the day ambient light only makes it brighter... the only drawback to a screen such as this is the contrast ratio is not very high, not an issue with it's intended use though...

I have been playing around a lot with projectors & retrofits, I am now starting to produce replicas of my dual quad headlight design for other fx's, my second version is not the same as my first, both projectors are not motorized bi-xenons, the inner added projector is just fixed non bi-level on my second design to make them more cost effective & all modifications on the new ones are contained within the existing housing, but it is still a nice look & adding a xenon bulb there does still increase light output...

I also been doing some custom work with the tailights, these tailights are not so easy to open as there designed different from the headlights & are sealed capsules not designed to be servicable, but I cut them open anyway & then with a lot of tideous work to make these cuts look perfect I reseal them... heres a few shots of the tailights:

I am doing a quad retrofit into my civic right now too.

Looks great! What projectors are those? I would love some cutoff shots.

I currently have some RX350 AFS's with Denso ballasts for the main set. Thinking about some Bi-Xenons for the second set, but havent decided on which yet.

I'll get you some cut-off shots nick but can't do them right away, my headlights are back out for fabrication again at the moment

look into these fx headlights, there plentiful because of the recall infiniti had on them so you can grab a complete set of headlights for around $100 or less on ebay for these projectors... they are cool for retrofits, they are bi-level & even the shroud can be used for custom fabrication, can't beat them for ~$100 a pair... of course that's with no ballasts/ignitors though... you can either use retrofit xenon kits for under $100 complete or even the stock nissan setups average around $75 a side as a good price on ebay... too...

OMG can you redesig head lights? OMFG thats so cool. I would love something like that on my Durango for the front, since the rear tail lights are going to be LED. I cant find anything similar in style for the front.

Also I hate the new FX, in pictures it looks nice but in person I hate it. It has this organic bug like look to it that I dont like. I think the previous FX blows it away in looks, especially all the mods you did.

well, not too much activity really. I winded up ordering a set of custom Iforged 3 piece forged wheels to fit the stock body, so probably not going to do any body stretching for a while since I was able to get these big tires under the fx without altering the body... rims should be in soon, takes forever with custom orders... going 11" rim in the back & 9 1/2" front, staggered setup... I can't find a 22 that is wider than the 315/30-22 & also has a matching diameter front... if I found something wide enough that I had to stretch the fx then I would have, but since they fit without it kinda defeated the purpose really...

since the body mods were off I decided that I want more power than the supercharger I had could give, so I sold it & I bought an HR motor & drivetrain from an 07 G35X awd which I will be swapping into this fx. the HR's are great motors & they can handle over 600hp in bone stock config which is way more than the tranny can hold. I will be limiting this build to around 430-450 at the wheels, either going twin turbo or possibly twin rotrex blowers... later if I build a monster tranny then maybe I could push over 500hp to the wheels, but not initially at least. even at ~450 to the wheels it should be a beast...

finally redoing my dash bezel to repair a few minor imperfections there....

not much else to update yet... when I get the wheels I'll put a shot up of the fx with the staggered wheel setup installed, I ordered them all semi-gloss black, should look good I hope... haven't done anything to the carpc in a long time, it's just reliable & there, no need to screw with it much, still haven't made a nice custom skin for it yet though...
