ha, not only will it work but it will be a very efficent setup too, meaning more power with less boost, greater longevity & less stress compared to a less efficent design, it should not only work but work very well :peace:
His name is turboCAD for a reason . . . :D
Should work pretty good, and with the addition of the waste gates, and I'm assuming blow off valves, it should be a relatively safe system.
That is going to be one rowdy FX, probably in the 500-600 HP range I guess?
Rear end is going to be next on the list of upgrades ;)
yeah man, initial goal is ~550bhp, maybe ~475 to the wheels... I can't stand all the klunking of a locker type rear, I'm hoping the distribution of torque front & rear will help the diffs last a bit longer sharing the load, I'm also concerned about the rest of the drivetrain, gonna have to baby her out of the hole at least & bring on boost progressively, not looking to rip everything apart if I can help it, guess I'll see what breaks first :p I'm planning on doing 2 different blow off valve setups, one recirc for stealth mode & then being able to switch to a vented bov for show off mode :) also looking to add 3" dumps right behind the front wheels that I can open & close from the drivers seat... should be fun...
great work! though, sad to say, it is a thread that i need to avoid-- too many ideas for my poor wallet...
even with the labor going over 100 hours, your going to motivate me to do my own turbo setup...(my stock motor doesn't like boost, so that would involve a whole motor rebuild...)
You're a man of perfection, I'd hate to work for you!
dude, no one does things to my satisfaction, including myself. I go easy on my guys though & I'm pretty realistic in what I expect from & accept from others who work for me... I always say you just can't expect them to really have the brains to be really great or else they wouldn't be working for me in the first place... that's why I don't let anyone touch my car, no one can really satisfy me :(
that's going to be the fastest FX.
I had the fx in the shop for a total of maybe 6 weeks or so & been working real hard on her most of the time, past 2 weeks especially with 1 am & later every night including saturday and sunday... the majority of the tough mechanical end of this swap & custom turbo build is pretty much DONE, roll her out of the shop tommorow, I can finish the plumbing & wiring with the fx outside.... I really had to push pretty hard to get this part of the project done as quick as possible... dropped the nose to the ground for the first time in 6 weeks & man, I forgot how low my fx sits... it almost looks like a car with no nose on it I originally hoped to complete all this in 4 weeks, but building all the headers & pipework from scratch instead of the lesser options I played with in the begining really added a lot of work to this build too...
I think I'd say I'm ~ 80% done overall at this point, can't wait to drive her again!... now the hard part is actually getting an HR motor to run in a DE car...
what are your estimates for power from that bad boy? This thread is epic.
