good job on a clean install. the computer speakers don't even look all that bad up front. glad you're happy with it all, you should be proud.

Computer HDD failed this week after 2 months of heavy use, could not get it to boot into windows anymore, it is a Seagate SATA2 320GB ST3320620AS. I took it to my desktop computer and try to boot it as a slave drive so I could backup all my mp3s and videos, no luck, it was recognized in the BIOS, but windows never showed up the drive in explorer. I think it is because of the car vibration that it failed.
I RMAed it for a replacement. I also order another WD RE 160GB that I will use to install windows XP and use the other seagate as a slave for all my mp3s and videos.

Ouch! Wot sort of vibration exists in your car? Im curious because I replaced my MTX Subs : they were truly entry level. I have Killer Kicker CompVRs and they'll give humans heart aches and its right by my carputer. So im saying it could have been something else that killed ur HDD. Plus ive had my setup since you saw it last.

ps: If u need videos ill hook u up...over a TB. Im a VJ (at least In my own mind) lol

Vibration from the car, because my sub is in the trunk. Like when you are driving going through pot holes, etc.... Just imagine the vibration you feel when you are driving, your HDD sees the same and even worse vibrations. You sit in your nice little driver's seat, very comfortable, you are so used to the vibrations that you do not notice them, but for a HDD, it is a different story, a small vibration can cause that tiny spindle that reads from the spinning disks to fail. Most HDD have a G ratings, check it out.

I will PM you for the videos...thanks

the WD RE edition drive you bought should be a bit better, as its a bit more durable (raid edition). BTW how did you mount those front/rear speakers from the z5500 kit? I have seen the center one in your "under the seat" picture.

    Nice setup btw!
