sweet, very inspiring.
I have a 2004 altima 3.5 that I am getting ready to outfit. I was wondering if you replaced your alternator or not? I imagine all those screens, the puter, plus whatever audio you have must draw a lot. I am looking at a lot of amperage but if you are using stock alternator then I may have hope without investing 600 bucks in a custom one.
I am using the stock alternator and the same stock battery, so far everything is running great, and I use it almost everyday aloud volume.
Good to hear. Do you know approx. how much amperage ur pulling?
wowoowow i'm impressed!@@ great job man
Very nice and clean install, you've put a lot of effort, one thing; would it be better to relocate or hide that USB socket
The first picture is when the PC is IDLE, the second is when I was encoding a MP3 file to stress the PC.
The computer is pulling between 7A ~10A, and each screen is pulling 1A
Overall you are looking at ~15A to 25A max
WOW... thats really low. Those PC speakers must be much more efficient than car audio. My sub amp alone can pull up to 100 Amps, although at my normal settings its more like 30A. Then my 6 channel amp probably pulls another 30 Amp. Then add the computer.
You have to remember that this measurement was made with the volume only 1/2 way ( you can see I even mentionned it in the picture), and the meter was reading 9A. I did not want to go any higher with the volume because that meter has a fuse rated at 10A and I did not want to blow it.
I am sure the amperage curve will be higher as you increase the volume and outputs lots of bass..
I have never measure the current draw at max volume since my meter rating does not go above 10A.
But theorically 550W would draw 45A on 12V
