    05 Mazda 3 S - XBOX Media Center Project

After almost 4 nights straight.... I finally got the xbox project done. it's in my car and f'n awesome. Pics below:

    First, the car..

    2005 Mazda 3 S Touring, Winning Blue
    - 17" Stock Wheels
    - Mods: Tint, Sharkfin, Wing, and LCD/XBOX system

    The project included:

    - Softmodding the XBOX
    - 80 GB Hard Drive
    - XBMC (XBOX Media Center)
    - Editing original theme for a blueish feel and used Mazda Logo on splash screen
    - Music, Movies, SNES/N64/Playstation Emulation
    - Connects to Xenarc Monitor and auxmod for sound

Future Plans on this: Wireless Controller or Remote, Upgrade Video to VGA (using component to vga adapter)

    PICTURES

XBOX UNDER SEAT (it's been organized and pushed much further underneath the seat)

On main screen while highlighted over "Pictures" button:

Main screen when an audio file is playing:

    Whole center console at night:

    During the day:

    Another picture during the day:

Hard to see, but Mario 64 is currently playing on the screen

    VIDEOS

    MAIN MENU AND WATCHING VIDEOS
MUSIC FIRST IN FULL VISUALIZATION AND THEN ON MAIN MENU

Let me know what you all think Trust me... I do not watch video when I drive.. only when i'm parked unless the lady wanted to watch Grey's Anatomy or something on it.... then i have no choice

ms3's start around 23, which is all you'd need if you wanted to go custom carputer style. the part i got is from japanparts.com, the screen is the xenarc tsv 7". Both together cost $600, which is much less then the $1800 Nav option that you can get with the car.

Hey, good job, looks really nice!
Couple of questions dough, can you control the xbmc over the touchscreen?
If yes, do you have a special driver for the touchscreen?
second, how do you emulate N64 games on the xbox?

There is a n64 emu ported to the xbox its on xbox scene dot com.

Nice project, The xbox does support usb direct plug into the controler port and I've used a mouse and KB with XBMC so you should be able to plug ur touch screen and try to get it working.

Other then that badass project I love my XBMC media streamer

Nice job, but why blackout the car plate on the first pic, when it is clearly visible on the screenshot.

last i heard you can't use a touchscreen in XBMC, just 'cause it supports keyboards doesnt mean it has touch drivers.., although you might now be able to get drivers now

i haven't heard anything about usb support in xbmc yet, but yeah that would be killer...

my next step in this process is to get wireless mini controllers, convert component to vga for better picture on this monitor (using that X2-DM or whatever it's called), and probably find a way to get ts working..

    Night,

When you say you bought a part from japanparts.com, which part?

    Assuming this one here
I just traded in my Mazda Protege 5 for a Mazda 3 last night and I want to migrate over to putting the computer in the new car. I was considering buying the following unit and just fitting a Lilliput or Xenarc into it.

I noticed you either remove or altered the dash for your screen. Does your screen fold down or does it stay where it is? Just curious.

Your setup looks great and I wish you luck on using Xbmc.

    and turning
