Good work. Thanks for being so detailed. I have 2000 Frontier and the center dash is somewhat similar. Lots of good ideas. Keep up the good work.
The mess... well not really
In the picture you can see 4 USB extension cable, two for the USB slots, and one for touch screen, one for GPS receiver. Yellow/Green 12V to power up LCD, Red/Black 5V to power up DVD, well, at least that's the original plan before the DVD fried. The coaxial cable goes all the way to the back for rear view camera.
This is where the wires come out in the trunk.
I spent one day building the PC case with MDF board since it's easier to work on and I can get an idea first in case I'm going for a second build.
Opus 320W is mounted on the cover, the rest of the PC goes into the box.
From another angle.
The access cutout, I moved the front USB panel to the back so now there are 6 USB ports in the back.
Fire it up for the first time, the yellow circle in the picture shows where I moved the rear windshield wiper switch to, along with PC switch and USB plugs.
Without flashlight.
GPS finally working after installed Xport to split serial port.
