    Nice!!!

I like this setup a lot and will probably do one similar. Any tips/suggestions you can think of would be greatly appreciated. Does this function well? Was it worth the hassle? BEST SETUP I HAVE SEEN YET FOR A BLAZER!

I have many compliments, but I have thought about redoing the overall shape of the thing. This is my first experience with fiberglass and basically just read the instructions on the can. If I decide to redo the shape, it would be to "bevel" the left and right sides to slope down to the existing contour of the dash. Keep in mind that I did not damage or alter anything on my Trailblazer. I can stick a philips head screwdriver into the bottom vent holes and remove two screws and remove the whole LCD touchscreen assembly in about 2 minutes. The compliments seem to be making me hold off changing the design. I have been working on getting my TREO 700W to work with Freefone and bluetooth. No real success yet. Thanks for looking!

    Have You All Noticed

That the car manufacturers are getting into the compuer screen in the car groove? Most designs have the touchscreen as high as possible on the dash panel. This helps the driver keep their eyes on the road as much as possible. I believe this is the ideal position of anyone wanting to put a carputer screen in their car.

Sweet install. Same idea that i used in my older Audi setup. But yours looks a lot nicer than what mine did

I see yo have the BOSE stereo? That`s what i have in my Chevy Tahoe also. Wondering if you have found a way to get your sound from the carputer into the BOSE system? If not. What solution did you find/make/use?

I don't know if you ever found a solution, but I have a TrailBlazer too and asked a similar Q.

I've been told that this item will do it--I can't confirm that because I haven't taken the plunge yet.

I first tried using an FM transmitter with a USB connected to the laptop. That was a disaster for about two weeks. The signal and quality was bad. Then I researched a device called a PIE that plugs in between the connector on the back of the factory BOSE radio and allows the factory cable to plug into the PIE. The PIE box has standard RCA audio output jacks on it. I simply ran a stereo cable from the laptop audio output jack to the PIE. The coolest part (and tricky at first) is how to switch from the laptop audio for the CARPUTER to the standard features on the factory BOSE system. You simply hit yor band button on the radio and change it to one of the XM bands. Then if the XM radio audio is coming out of the speakers, simply hit the channel up button and then the down button. The sound will toggle to the RCA jacks and get the sound from the CARPUTER. To switch it back, hit channel up and then channel down, it will switch audio back to XM. No modification to the wires or anything. A WORD OF CAUTION... Be sure to order the correct version for your specific vehicle and radio. There are a few different versions for the GM vehicles. There is one for six cd with no XM, a version with single CD with XM (like mine), and there is a version with single CD with no XM. The unit cost me about $50 new from EBay. This is by far the best way to send your audio to your factory stereo. The pure quality of your original sound is there and there is no bunch of wires to figure out. Switching between devices is easy and with no pop or unwanted noises. If you need further help, email me. Use subject of MP3Car so I don't trash your email to me. markcox (at) LCS.NET
