Documentation on Car-PC installation in my SAAB 9000. The main use of the computer is to have easy access to all my music and have a GPS system. Other then that I also put in a OBDII scanner, a Bluetooth receiver for hocking up the telephone, keyboard and sound processor. The system will soon have net access with a 3G modem. Here is a list of the system today:

    Motherboard, Jetway J9F2-Extreme
Processor, Intel Core 2 Duo T7200
    Memory, DDR2 PC2-5400 667MHz 2Gb
    Case, Casetronic Travla C138
    Power supply, M2-ATX 6-24V DC/DC (160 Watts)
    Monitor, 8,4” 4:3 Touchscreen
OBD II, ElmScan ISO USB Scan Tool
    GPS, Don’t remember
    Joystick, Powermate
    Keyboard, Freedom Universal Keyboard
USB, Three USB hub´s, all powered with 5V

Here are some pictures of the installation. I will put up some more pictures of the souns system and the installation further on.

Well it is slow, really slow, take several seconds to uppdate. And if you got a newer car I think you need the one with Multi-protocol. But I should look for one that is faster.

    Great Setup

Hi, I am also a big fan of SAAB 9000 from Moscow, Russia. Currently I own Jubileum M97, which is very similar to your car.

I am impressed with the photos! Exceptionally functional setup! Now I am looking myself to built smth similar I've started with VIA EPIA-ME6000, under-seat steel case, and XDXS080Z 8" touch monitor.

I have several questions for you:

    - Could you please be so kind to share more details in how did you make cuts in "wooden" panel, and how did you seal the edges of LCD screento fit it into the panel. I am interested in the instruments and materials needed.

    - How do you think, could it be possible to fit in this LCD I am planning to install? (link)
It's XDXS080Z 8" touch monitor, and LCD screen itself has 141х185mm install size. As I see from your pictures/post, the monitor you have seems to be even a bit larger (8,4")

-Also, where is the DvD-tray located (If there is one)?

    Thanks in advance,

P.S. Some photos of my SAAB

Nice to hear there is others that like this great car. I actually just got me another one and am planning to install a computer into that one too. Since I have a loot of experience with the first installation I will use that and try to make this one much better. I will gladly assist you but the questions are not easily answered but I will off course help you the best I can and maybe you can help me too.

Do you have some mail I can reach you at?
