Mazda Rx8 Carputer Fabrication and Install pics.

This is my car's progression. just finished a full carbon fiber front end with a fabricated carputer install.. I copied Zenfe's design, so, all credit goes to him..

First, Pics of my car.. <3 my Rx-8

This is my carputer on the Inside.. Thanks to zenfe for answering my questions on how to do it right

Roadrunner is awsome Thanks guino.. Hey.. we have the same car!

    Little Red Button

Fabrication and installation took me a week and a half to complete.. Use my laptop in the trunk to control everything.

    And my "Other" baby

Nice install. But please for the love of god. Take off the car bra..

    1. They do more damage then good once rocks and dirt get underneath
    2. What good is good paint if it never gets shown anyway

hey well done! it looks very similar to mine

Did you find a mechanism to control opening / closing? or is it manual for now?

Do you have more pics mid fabrication?

Gah, I didn't.. it's manual for the moment, I was thinking of using a cd-rom drive to open close it, but haven't set up the gears for it.. I think you were right in using a servo.

I just finished making a relay to turn my laptop on (1 sec closed circut) when the car starts. and a large cap, so it doesn't try to close the circut again when I start the car from acc to start. But, that's the limits of my circut knowledge.

Other than that, i'm very happy with it, it works awsome. and looks really nice (lots of compliments)

It's nice hearing, "I didn't realize that rx-8's come with that!?"

heya, yeah, the carbra comes off when spring hits, just there to protect the carbon fiber bumper. That is digitalFX 2.5, I'm now using freedom ultimate at the moment. working awsome.

Very nice happy to see another Ocho with a CapPC.

how do you like the rx-8??
I've had my RX8 for a going on 2 years picked it up brand new. Honestly I wouldn't recommend the car to anyone unless you got it used for a really good price. Might just be me but I have had a TON of issue's with mine luckly its been covered by factory warranty.
