well right now its sitting under the car cover with snow on it. so now i have more time to think of more stuff to put in it and change my original idea once more. i am already changing my joystick idea-i bought an extension and i was going to install the end in the new console but now i just found a wireless usb gamepad at best buy so thats my first change of the winter. there will definently be more to come.

the big choice---to replace the new struts, shocks and springs i just put in sumnmer '01 and dont have 1 mile on them for a nice set of air bags. i dont want to bounce around just raise and lower. but i really dont think i have enough room for the air tank. i guess i thought of that too late

    extra weight

If you want to race the car, it might not be such a good idea to add any sound deadener material. The guys that I know hwo autocross have stripped all their's off (now THAT takes time) to save weight. Some people have saves as much as 60lbs or so. I have heard fromt hem that about 10lbs is worth about 1HP or so. It kinda puts those $200 5-10HP add-ons into perspective.

Naturally most of you wont' be racing and you probably won't notice the difference. My Jeep Cherokee doesn't have any sound deadener material and sounds pretty good (I have a pair of 6x9s and 5.25's and a 12 in the back). Now I'm not trying to show the car, and it doesn't sound *exceptional* but its good for what I want.
    No Carputer YET.

Hey ! Thats a sweeeet car... i love your system setup too. Im recommending you to come on over to www.turbododge.com , when you feel like doing some simliar work under the hood. You added several hundred pounds of weight to the car.. why not add some power to make up for it? Everyone there can help you get the T1 intercooled or step up to a t2 conversion. Wont cost even 1/4th of what you did to the interior either

my car is a 86 dodge lancer that was originally a 2.5 EFI and is now a 2.5 turbo intercooled running 87 shelby z electronics.. have a computer system, but its not running now due to no p/s.. also tore out the backend for a stereo system.. never got the money to finish it though. Well, if you ever want to do some enegine work, head on over to turbododge.com.. excellent advice, troubleshooting and how-to help.

Im poor so i wont have anything like yours.. but heres my car: (cant even afford paint.. lol).

    Flip:

You are correct, 10lbs = about 1 hp.

However, on these Chrysler/Dodge turbo cars... HP is easier to attain. If he opens up his exhaust, swaps to a newer style intake and adds an intercooler, and a boost controller (total of about $300).. He will have a good 60 hp more than before.

albysure.. where do you work? and im curious did you do all of it yourself, and if so, i want to see some pics of your garage! ! !

    hey thanks for the reply!
i do have an intercooler i will install in the spring-bought it from some guy on yahoo mopar groups. im not quite sure how i will pass the pipes through the front wall near the radiator but ill definently check out your forum tonight. and i also have had a new computer in there that raises the boost and brings the advance in earlier. i installed that just about right after i bought the car.

my garage is my driveway. i have a small shop in my cellar but at least it has an outside hatchway. i wore out a grass patch from there to my driveway this summer.

i was an installer in the early to mid 80's for almost 5 years-when alpine released their first car cd player.

Cool The forum is a great place to learn.. however some of us guys act like we know it all .. youll soon find the ones that do know it vs the ones that think... Im still learning myself.

Great to hear youll be gettin in under the hood... Whats the awesome stereo without the awesome engine? I wish i would have the money to even finish my stereo! I need to get a mrv1507 and four 1021d's to be able to call it complete for now...

Previous installer.. ok so you have some history.. hehe.. Im barely starting up college so im barely gettin started here

Anyways, im going to go disappear for awhile, i just realized these were my only posts in over 3 months here. Feel lucky . Lol

    Cya around.
