Oh youll see hes the "turbo dodge whore" He replies to every post, hes online 24/7.. He laughs at everything, starts arguments, and well, hes just gabe. Lol. He spends alot of time cleaning his car and the thought of another car looking nicer is hard to attain. Also, as youve noticed, we are very humorous and laid-back car people.. Hope you stay around and have fun! Im curious how you secured things in your car.. im thinking of a custom console (mines beat up)..

the console screws in under the armrest just like its supposed to and i made another bracket in the front to secure it down.

i was just asked over there how i would remove it. the screen is attached to the part where the radio used to be. that lifts out and then the console can be lifted up to get to the shifter linkage.---i hope!

happy holidays to everyone here at mp3car.com!!

well i've been busy--even in the snow. i have the front doors wired up to the alarms remote 2 auxiliary channels. one big problem is that one of them has a full 1 second pulse. so im worried about burning up the solenoid. but i found another kit at mpja (parallel port relay board and my 8 channel remote kits) that is a 4 channel transmitter that can learn codes as well as use its own. so now i will learn it to use the alarm functions of arm and disarm as well as to open the front doors. this kit is customizable as to being able to make the relays latch or be momentary. cant wait.

also i bought anopther dual vga video card with composite out and a green undercar neon kit. that should make the car go faster!!!

i'm redoing the sub rings-making them closer to the sub cabinet because they kinda block out the rear screens in the headrests when you look at them from the rear. i found a nice mercury switch on ebay that i'm going to use to trigger the power to the rear screens so they only work when the hatch is open. and last but not least i'm starting to get quotes on how much the neon for the computer and power distribution areas is going to be. its definently worth it to get it made at a sign shop--much brighter.

the computer has been in the car all summer so i think ill bring it back in on my desk(where it sat for almost 2 years while i kept changing my car plans) so i can load the new music i get and i wont have to waste valuable sunshine weather to do it.

    Ooh!

Let us know how you go. Can you mount a DVD vertically (ie slot at the top)?

    C!

    15' ide cable

ok so i got the cable and on first try it didnt work. not unrolled

i unrolled it and spread it out more and now it works but the video is kinda jerky every 5 or 6 seconds. it can play music on cd's and mp3's fine though.

leslie suggests that i wrap it in foil so i will try that tonight.

normally i use an 80 conductor cable. this is a 40-although a short 40 works perfect. i did look through the bios but was unable to find anything related to this

    dvd vertical-who the hell knows!

    i'll update with the results...

since my last post i lost my motherboard, network and sound card. i don't know why but i'm now using my car computer for all this. i'll get a new one in the spring.

update...i just wrapped the whole cable and it works perfectly!!! not a pause in it. so i guess when i start to work on my car again i'll install it first to make sure it works in the car and i'll be installing the dvd in the dash somewhere--looks like somewhere where the glove box used to be.

well i got a real buddy deal from a friend i've know for about 20 years since he was in auto body shop in high school. he doesn't usually do complete paint jobs--he does it in his garage on his off time. he did me a HUGE favor by taking this car on. total time was about 5 weekends. if i went to a shop i think it would have cost at least $3000. when i see him around i still thank him!

    Sure, why not?

Mine's in my center console like that for over a year and working fine.

Wow I need to start a thread for my car.

I'm old school though. Haven't kept up on the newest stuff. My next CarPC will be a P4
