yeah my metra kit didn't fit either. but here's my end result. I moulded my screen actually into the hvac controls and then colour matched the dashboard.

I've got FreeICE, with the following bits of Kit:

Steering wheel controls - works a treat. If anyone wants the schematic e-mail me. You can also use this for Pioneer/Clarion headunits. Total cost was 2.50
    Silabs Radio
    Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard
Bluetooth Rx (works with the phone as well, so you can dial/text and stuff from the carpc)
    Wifi
    DVD, CD etc all that.

Unfortunately in this last picture the flash picked up the gap between the hvac system and the radio, you can't see it in normal running but it shows up on here. This is a common fault on the Euro Corolla, wondering if the US ones have it as well?!

Looks great! Im thinking of installing a carputer into my Corolla T-Sport 2002 and now Im collecting ideas from people here on mp3car.com. And I see that your solutions are exactly as what I have thought how to do it. I want a clean and nice install. Skuller, where did you put the carputer? (The box with MB, HDD, PSU)

skuller, thanks for posting this. I've been on the edge of adding a CarPC to my 2007 Corolla, and this thread definately pushed me over. Post like these really help people get into projects as it does an amazing job in guiding people.

    Skuller,

That looks great. I recently (2 days ago) signed my paperwork for my 2007 Corolla. I really like what you've done with yours and how clean the car pc looks. Maybe i'm missing it but what are you using for the din shroud/plastic piece. About how much do you have invested in this car pc? I need to get a list together. I really hate the stock stereo. On your unit do you have a separate head unit? or do you have a FM receiver on the PC?

    Sorry for all the questions.

    mrdeadlocked,

The shroud is a metra double din kit.
I don't have a separate head unit, the audio goes straight to an amplifier. The pc has a silabs fm receiver.

    Approx cost around $800.
