    Yea just noticed that ^_^;;

    @ Nermin:

I'm probably going to put my carputer in my 2004 Ford Expedition :3 Lots of room to work in one of those...Either that, or I'll sell the Expedition and buy a 300

you have to remember though Greatwhite, that back in the day the 300 was supposed to be a classy car or at least it looks classy to me....

Nah, the 300 was a grown up hot rod.

    300 history

    Quote:
At its introduction in 1955 the first Chrysler 300 was also the most powerful production car in the US. It made full use of all three hundred horsepower on the sands of Daytona Beach that year for a record-breaking 127.580 miles per hour around 7 miles per hour faster than its nearest non-Chrysler rival.

The 300 was always a car with muscle, the fact that you got luxury with it was a bonus.

The letter cars were chrysler's "halo" models, used to debut the companies technological advances like big HP and fuel injection.

    Cheers

And here's a picture of the interior of the Ford Expedition. This one is NOT my Expedition, but it's close enough...(Grab bar for passenger seat is not made of wood in mine, and guage cluster looks different)

The small screen, and all the buttons around it, can be removed easily (Someone broke into the car sometime last year and tried to take it...they forgot a few screws, and couldn't get it undone, so they left. When the screen and buttons are removed, it'd leave plenty of room for a large screen. Below that are cimate controls. Those could easily be removed, and temperature could be controlled through the carputer, which would take their place...

I <3 the Expedition, because of the easy placement, and the room! it's freaking huge...

Though I'm still trying to decide whether to put the carputer in the Expedition or tha Altima... :|

    EDIT:

BTW, this looks like a pretty good site for some custom parts for a 300

I've always liked lambo-style doors, and suicide doors (though hard to imagine what they'd be like together on the same car >_>)

I love the interior, this is my first time seeing it. I just hate the outside of it, looks so boxy and ugly. The older Expeditions looked better to me. Also to mention, the new Navigator looks ugly too, I dont know what Ford is doing. WOW there is alottttt of room though. If you do do the install i hope you trick out the inside. Add abunch of screens, etc, but make it look stock.

i wouldnt mind a STUTZ, looks like the Cruella Deville car from 101 Dalmnations, lol.... Image a CarPC in that thing.....

Wow GREATWHITE you really know the 300. All in all I have always thought of the new 300 as a classy car. Infact I call it the Bentley knockoff...... You know the only thing I hate about 300 here in America is that Chrysler tries to push that car on ethnic people. infact i heard they were being sued for selling it to black people at a higher price then other race backgrounds.

No matter which car I put it in, I'll make sure to make it look as stock as possible. I always hated carputers that were a HUGE mess. Check out the 2005 Nissan Altima worklog! that guy is my hero! It could almost be mistaken for dealer installed...

But if I were to build in the ford (and I agree with you...outside styling isn't the best, but the inside kicks some serious ***), then I'd do one big (10-12 inch, depending on what I can get that'll fit) where the headunit is now, then have the carputer down where the temperature controls are.

I might even add in some controls (or maybe an iPod dock station / AUX audio jack?) to the back seat controls (on the back of the center console).

The back seat controls are a pretty nice setup. And PERFECT for a carputer. I've already taken out the inside of the center console before (wanted to see what it was like inside ^_^), and there's plenty of room for a monitor / computer / DVD player / anything in that spot (though it'd be prone to getting kicked). Plus, under the climate control buttons is a small cubby that flips out with an ash tray and cigarette lighter. I've always HATED smoking, and there's another DC outlet on the side of the console (for charging phones, etc.), so I could gut the little box and put some switches -- power on/off for the computer, mainly. And maybe some USB ports

Well, I seem to be hijacking this thread! :P

Post more pics of the 300 mod as soon as possible! love the project!
