Thanks! Yours looks EXTREMELY OEM! Nice work. My goal is more towards a OEM flavored custom look (hence OEM colored carpeting, etc, but with windows for bling to show through). Whenever it's time to upgrade the carputer, I'm going to stick the second version in the spare tire well with a "bling" window for a more integrated look.

Using the Philips video camera software that comes with it. I experimented with RRCam, and I can get about 15 fps instead of the 7fps that everyone else gets with what I assume are CMOS cameras.. I'm looking for a way to integrate it into the FE..

dude like the fabrication and the usb port!!! I got a 2007 gt that put my own stangputer in. I'll have to post some pics tues. you usin a 250 w ps?? that must do some serious drainage on the battery if you don't turn it off. you might wanna use a mini-itx mother board with a smart power supply to minimize it. that computer with the heat sinks looks bad *** . I love the work you put into it. for my screen i used a metra kit like blk02si but it doesn't look quite as good as either of yours cause i just zip tied the case to the metra kit really quick. i gotta usb hub in my console compartment for gps,my phone, wifi and bluetooth i'll have to post it. my next project was gonna be to put in a rear cam and i got some ideas now... thnx

Cool, I'll be looking for your thread with pictures! BTW, it's a 320W power supply and I cannot use the computer while the car is off (battery would probably drain in 10 minutes). So I have it setup to do a soft shut down about 10 seconds after I turn the engine off and turn on with ignition.

I want to have a lower power setup in the future, but for now, I just used my old desktop gaming rig, which is all I have. Radeon X850XT video card is overkill for a 7" carputer screen and probably sucks up 100 watts by itself.. but it's all I have. :violin:

just look throw your build, great job :), love the way you did the screen, looks like you didn’t even use spray-paint. Only would have made the mounting L-profiles on the inside of the mobo box

The L brackets looks good painted black :) man I'm really liking the Philips webcam think I'll be swapping mine out for a Philips this weekend.

Ohhh does the software for the Philips webcam allow you to flip video upside down?

Yeah, I'm 99% sure the webcam software allows flipping in any direction. I'll double check this evening.

I got one big question or I guess just wondering about. How well does the SCT tuner work running as a diagnostic tool and such? How do you view the readouts, is there special software that allows this and can it be integrated into the FE software or does it just run standalone? Sadly I don't know much of anything about the SCT, however I am planning on picking one up in a few months for my truck and was thinking it could work for this but this is the first time I have confirmed it. Sure would be nice and would save an extra $130 from buying the ElmScan if the SCT can do the same thing.

Ok, the SCT sucks for gauges. It works, and the SCT software shows gauges, but you cannot integrate it. Also, the SCT needs to be reset every day or evrey other day because it freezes when it's constantly on. And the last thing that happened was it was causing my car to not run properly after being plugged in for a month straight. I have had it unplugged for hte last 2 weeks.

Gotta run and pack, leaving town for a bit, but will explain more later if you got more questions. Get the Elmscan if you want to save money - I hear it will update very slowly (SCT updates real time no matter how many gauges you see). If you want the best, get the Mongoose cable for $495.

Hmm doesn't sound too promising. I wonder if some of that is fixed with the Xcal 3 it supposedly has more memory and other updates. Do you know if your SCT is trying to data log while its constantly plugged in? Wondering if that could be why it freezes up if its running out of memory or something while displaying the gauges.

I sure would hate to have it mess up my truck though and cause it to not start or something, specially if the SCT were to take a crap too then I wouldn't be able to change tunes back to the stock at least to get around. Any links to this mongoose cable that you speak of? is this another carpc to OBD II reader? I am planning on having a SCT regardless of if it does gauges or not, I can get the best tunes for my truck through an SCT and one of the custom tuner guys.
