My 1998 Ford Explorer XLT one day installation

I had one day to complete this project, I was moving to Texas and my wife gave me one day to do this so here goes.

    Heres the ride

First i gutted out everything, and i have to relocate the HAVOC and the 4wd wiper and defrost switches.

Here is what i have to work with, notice i cut up pretty much everything and i dissasembled a MobileVu 10.4 TS ($27 ebay)

    Okay switches relocated to cupholder

Now HAVOC controls and single din slot

Cover for MobileVU TS (huge 7lb screeen)

    Now for PC install!

    M2 ATX, M10000 MB, 250gb HD, 1GB Ram

Now Time to put it all together!!

Let me know what you guys think, very simple!!!

I am very impressed for a one day job.
Looks great, some areas in my opinion could be cleaner, but you had to rush.
Imagine if you had a few more days...

    It looks great.
    I like it.
Paint it to match the rest of the dash..
The black is too much in my opinion.

the original pieces were black, thats why i kept it the same, but its a work truck with 350,000 miles so ill probably tear it up anyways

Dang, as said it may not be the cleanest but if you can pull off that much work all in one day and keep it as clean as you did then you most certainly have some good fabrication skills. And ya prove it with your Eclipse lol. Both look pretty sweet.

How hard was it to extend all the cables for the switches? Guessing the heater controls could stretch to the new position. I don't think I could even get the thing stripped and have an idea of where to put everything in a day lol. Still working on how I want to mount my LCD.

the 4wd was only 4 wires, i chopped soldered and heat shrank it longer, same with the rear wiper defrost and foglight switches. The HAVOC was just long enough, i didnt want to even try to mess with that, plus it has several vacuum lines that plug into it. But the thing i liked the most is all the space once i removed all the crap inside the dash. BTW It looks alot better with all the smudges cleaned off the screen cover, bezel thingy. but Thank you for the complement!!!
