The depth of the single din slot on MK4's are very limited. Fortunately, I found a low profile right angle male 1/8" Stereo jack from logitech. Without this right angle jack, the head unit simply would not fully seat to engage the chassis lock.
Then from here, I used a 12", 1/8 male to male cable from the logitech to the SB X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro sound output. The second input is for the stand alone 10,000 song karaoke microphone.
Audio amps? They tend to draw a lot of power, I don't need one right now as the head unit is loud enough for a clean, crisp, easy listening environment. I'd rather save power draw from what an amp would consume for additional backlit LED displays.
More to this project will be added soon.

Thanks summer69guy. How is your project coming along?
I decided not to enter the vehicle at the car show this year. I want to control certain vehicle functions over the internet, something quite like the bait cars do in Canada. That part is still in the planning stages though.
I'll be adding a wifi access point next, and an 8" in dash LCD.
Stay tuned!![]()

Long time! I am trying to do something similar, but I want to do it all through the car alarm system. The fact that it takes time for the PC to come on and what not, makes it seem slow. With a key chain remote, I will be able to unlock/lock the doors, open/close all the windows, auto start the car, turn on the carpc if the engine isn't running and the final out put I may use to turn on custom lighting. I cant wait to see how it turns out. I can also control my carpc via my Touch Pro. It did require me to install a network and access point into the car.
