thats really cool! I bet you are having a blast with it.
I just installed an EEE PC using a GNET video bypass to hook up to the OEM screen.
EEE PC with 4GB RAM, SDHC, XP nLite, RoadRunner, Elite skin.
USB GPS Holux M1000
VGA-Composite AVMedia adaptor
Keyboard is Logitech Nova Mini
what else. I'll add info later. Just excited to see it almost there. I need to do a remote toggle and hard wire the electrical.
I did the install (temp, I gotta hard wire the electrics). I can confirm it looks good. Pictures will tell you..
I tested the install with a $25 SD Card/USB mp4, divx, mp3 player.
(A bit of 80s humor with Rick Astley to show off to my friends)
I then popped my eeepc into the cargo bay. Perfect fit. Literally perfect.
Fired up the PC. 15 second boot with custom Windows XP
New GPS
Watching a DIVX movie
Remote/Controller
Some Music
Cheap $25 Chinese player. Plays mp3, pictures. movie and fits in the cooler just fine.

How did you integrate the audio?
What are you using to turn it on and off and power it?
I was powering it manually. I did the LCD remove magnet hack so it works with the lid closed. I was going to power it with a relay to the Rj11 phone socket.
Sound is via AV input on my GVIF adaptor and runs through the aux jack.
I've since abandoned this setup. I am hooking up a HTC Touch Pro Pocket PC smartphone to my car instead. I was dealing with lousy album art support using Road Runner. IGuidance is a bit out-dated.
I will be using Windows Media 10 for pocket PC, I have a new shell launcher and I will be running iGo8. Using a Phone to power my in car setup is freaking cool. I didn't think a PDA phone would replace a carputer but in my case, I think it is a better setup.
Cool... Show us what you do with the PPC
See this thread:
Use Windows Mobile phone as carputer

I think I am going to drop the idea of a carputer when a phone does it nicely.
Hi
Nice work! Can you show me some photos of the "GNET video" and VGA-Composite AVMedia adaptor?
Many thanks!
I dont have picts but I got the idea from this thread on a LR3 forum. It is the same one made by the OEM. Look at page 3 for his install of the GVIF adaptor

Prius and Lexus uses the same thing. Here is a thread from a Prius forum

No picts on the AVMedia. As I said, I am now using a phone for everything.
