That's the plan. I'd rather plan it out well before going for the install.

I'm still deliberating if I should get a motherboard with a Radeon or GeForce based video card. Both of the boards I'm considering have RGB and DVI output, only one has HDMI though, but it comes at the price of a high quality sound card.

I plan on using a PCI riser anyway so I'll have 2 PCI slots for other devices.

Looks like I will go with the Sempron LE-1300 for the CPU. It's not as good in power consumption as the 8W Athlon 64 2000+, but it's still pretty efficient.
I also found a nice heatsink, so I'll try to run it without a fan, or at least with a small one.
I'll spout simplistic opinions for hours on end.
Ridicule anyone who disagrees with me,
    and generally foster divisiveness,
cynicism and lower level of public dialog!

If you need a riser card, i have 2 of them i am not using. i will gladly send them to you. Just pay the shipping. I will never use them, the went with my version 1 and 2 install. I would get the MoBo with the better graphics card, you can always easially add better audio via a PCI soundcard, or a USB soundcard.

It seems that I can push allot more while still keeping the system under 120W. It is a bit more expensive, but it offers DVI output as well as high quality sound, and a built in quality graphics chipset.
i would say go with the J&W mini-ITX 780G, because it can underclock and undervolt, pick up a 5050 x2 black edition and underclock that sucker and it will give you modile power usaga, the jetway cant undervolt, only + voltage i confirmed it with a user

the 780g has better graphics then the 8200, the only other thing that can beat it is a 9300 but they only come in the micro ATX

plus the J&W one has better sound based on the review tests

only con to the J&W is that its a pcie and not a pci card, that does suck if you want to use something older or that only comes in a pci, but on the bright side you could put all the new pcie stuff even 2nd ary video card?

I don't think I'm willing to lose the option of two PCI slots, plus I already have a PCI WiFi.

i understand thats up to you, i already had a xfi pci too, but the mobo is far more important then pci cards, which i could get in pcie format, and now im thinking i will just use the onboard sound anyway, since i dont have any aftermarket sound system, i dont think a better sound card will do that much difference

pretty much everything else can be usb device, though the usb sound cards they say are not that good too much processing is done on your cpu, thats what i dont like about usb devices in general

i thought about taking an old or a cheap wifi router and having it in my car that might work far better then any wifi pci, and they would cost about the same, i think you can rig the power easy to it and have a full router ability and firewall at same time

and the best part your cpu wont do any of the processing, you would simply use Ethernet to the router
