I'm certainly not saying the red wasn't done well, or that it doesn't look good. Just that it doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the interior. I'm a fan of the OEM look, nothing too flashy for me.
Thanks, I used the inverter because I had one, it was easy, and I was using a laptop. I probably would go DC/DC if I was using a regular computer. The startup/shutdown controller was actually easy to wire in.
I went with red because I have red wipers and the red paint. As of now, I would have liked black to match so it wouldn't stick out so much, but am too lazy to paint it.

If you ever pull the computer out for any reason, can you take pictures of the back of it, or specifically, how you mounted the laptop with the screen reversed? Thanks!
Hi
Can you show us some photos of your Eee?
How do you install in, how do you mount it in your car?
Thanks!
I will have upload some photos when I get home. I will be away from my car for a while.
Here is some pictures of how I installed the eeepc. I took the screen and rotated it, I already had the touchscreen mod, I just extended the cord. I have a wooden board that the computer is mounted too. I have a 300 watt in the trunk, which is connected to the headphone jack. I just have 2 channel sound, no bigge.
This is what it looks like with the screen off.
Inside, behind the screen.
Underside of the computer, the board that the computer sits on.
The amp in the truck.
