Please excuse the ignorance, but what does "TIA" mean?
I had the body shop retouch a few portions of the paint job and will be getting it back again tomorrow and plan to take some pics of the exterior as well as the mounting locations for gps, radio, etc. I'll post those soon after.
I'm also working on customizing the software a bit more. I'm (hopefully) going to be creating a custom front end skin as well as installing a pre-release version of the new DashCommand software from Palmer Performance Engineering (and I highly recommend you all check it out).http://palmerperformance.com
Here is a video of the soon to released iPhone/iPod Touch version as well. The Desktop version will be very similar.
I'm also planning on adding an accelerometer to get the full benefits of DashCommand.
Once I get the software all finalized I'll use a minlogon, ewf, HORM setup and post some boot times, etc.
Questions? Comments? Concerns? Chistes? Chismes?
@Xygar: LOSER!:laser:
just kidding.
Xygar is my brother btw, so any bad-mouthing between the two of us is... whatever.
minlogon, ewf, and HORM are features from windows embedded (there are ways to use them in XP like I'm doing).
minlogon replaces winlogon and skips a bunch of the logon screens from xp and logs the user in under the "system" user. It's way faster than a regular boot up.
ewf protects a partition from hard disk writes. It basically makes the partition "read only" and any writes are saved into RAM instead of to the drive. On reboot, away they go. It's like using Deep Freeze if anyone is familiar with that.
HORM = Hibernate Once Resume Many. It allows a snapshot of the drive to be resumed each time you start up your machine.

I just liked the dancing chick.:shake:
hmmm, smilies can be fun...
^^ This Dude cracks me up haha
Quick update.
My PC was having some issues booting, (I think something came loose in the dash) So I pulled it out and I think I'm gonna relocate it to the trunk for easier access next time something goes wrong. Maybe I'll put my amp back there too. And I'd eventually like to relocate the battery as well.
And I'll wash the car and post some pics of the exterior hopefully this afternoon.
In the way of performance mods, I would like to install an STS remote turbo system (but that one will have to wait for several more pay checks), maybe some new headers, etc. All in due time.
In the midst of relocating everything.
I decided that while I was running the myriad of wires from the trunk, I may as well run another +12V and +5V from the M2ATX up front to power the screen along with the computer (12V) and power my USB hubs (5V). These wires will come from the MOLEX adapter on the M2-ATX. This way my screen will power on with the computer instead of from the accessory line, and will have a regulated 12V instead of whatever happens to be coming from the battery.
Wow are there a lot of wires to run...
I have all my power wires running along the driver side under the door trim and through to the trunk, while all the speaker, audio, VGA, USB, etc. are run under the passenger side door trim (to hopefully avoid any signal noise from the power lines).
I would be out there finishing it, but the rain has come :(
I also thought of a way to pass audio through the system without using Windows send the line in to line out (this will eliminate the need to wait for windows to boot to use the Aux. in as well as let me still play music when the car pc crashes). It will work, but it is very ghetto.
So here is the Aux. in solution...
3.5mm splitter running into the audio output of the PC, 3.5mm to RCA from one end of the splitter to the amp, aux input into the other end of the splitter. Very ghetto, but it works.
My only problem now is getting another VGA extension to run to the trunk from the speaker compartment, all I have is male to male and I need a male to female sometime this afternoon (and I'm broke till pay day). I'll make it work somehow.

Hey, I'd love to see some pictures of your subwoofer / amp setup. I"ve got an 02 Convertible GT and am having a helluva time figuring out where to sick a subwoofer (or two) while leaving me with a little bit of room.
Great install/pics so far.
Dan
You wanna see a small trunk? Check out a Camaro, and that's a hatch (the 'verts are way worse)! My brother's Mustang GT 'vert makes my storage space look small :(
I'll admit that with the glass and all that, I'm sure I've got more storage area than he does. But what I would consider "trunk" in my Camaro is almost nothing, and it's the only place I can store the T-tops.
Sad day, but I guess I didn't buy it for the trunk now did I? :car:
