Just got my subwoofer and monoblock. The subwoofer is a SPL Dynamics V-300D4, which is a 12" with dual 4ohm coils, Finnish brand *proud* . The amplifier is a Ground Zero GZTA 2.500TA, which is a 550W monoblock at 2ohms. This setup should work for me as long as I get it nicely installed in the trunk also :P Here is some pictures...

This is the planned installation, at least for now Letīs see what time brings

Here comes a small update. Just finished drawing the subwoofer enclosure, roughly 35liters minus the subwoofer itself which is about 4liters -> about 31liters to play music in (recommendation from the manufacturer is 26-35liters in a closed box) :P Had to make the enclosure a bit lower in the sides so that it would fit under the magnets of the 6.5" speakers in the rear. Still donīt know where I will put the amplifier but that I have to sort as I go. Here is an overview of the enclosure.

I have now finished the subwoofer enclosure, still have to do some cabling and make a cover for the backside of the enclosure.

    All the bits.

Doing some testing before applying glue, mainly to verify that the subwoofer fits in the box and that the box fits in the car.

More testing, looks great so far...

Marked the hole for the subwoofer...

...and cut it, fits like a glove

Mounted the speaker in the enclosure and to the enclosure out to the car, it fitted but noticed that the springs from the trunk lid was too close of the top of the enclosure so I had to remove one of the lids, this way I got the enclosure 22mm lower with the subwoofer still fitting.

Front view, the lid that is second from the top was removed.

The took the enclosure apart and started glueing and tighten all screws...

Fitted dampening materials inside the box. Also fitted a 6mm2 speaker cable, which I splitted for the 2 coils. Made a small opening in the dampening material so that I wouldnīt sufficate the air flow from the magnet / coils.

After that it was time for more glue, contact glue for the carpet. Here you can see the second lid removed.

A finished enclosure, so far very satisfied with it, hope it sounds well too...

The enclosure test fitted in the car, you canīt really see much but it fits. I will take some better pictures when I make the cover for the back. When it is completed you wonīt see the enclosure at all, here it now looks like it is floating in the thin air

Fixed the cover for the back of the subwoofer enclosure so that you canīt see the enclosure itself. Also made the amplifier fit into the cover. Here are some pictures.

Board cut for hinges and amplifier

The making of endcovers for amplifier started. These I made to hide the cables.

Endcovers done, amplifier in place for testing.

Board completed and in car. Pretty satisfied with the results.

Next on the list is to do the cabling to the amplifier, so soon I will post a video also of the system in action More pictures can be found in my gallery to which you can find a link in my signature.

Thank you for those nice words!

The motherboard is as you can see on pictures attached to a metalsheet (this is a bottom of a old PC case that happened to have the right screw holes for the MB). The metal sheet is then attached with zip-ties inside the dashboard. So basically it just hangs there.

For USB I have two ports coming out in the drivers foot compartment. These are normally hidden behind the center console, but are very easy found and pulled out so you can attach whatever device you need.

Another question if you don't mind: how do you like that CPU/mobo combo? How does it handle video playback? Aslo, I notice you chose to run XP, how responsive is it? Thanks!
