Good job bro!
Thank you all for the great information that helped me to put this together!!!
I only have a couple pics right now but I have the other stuff semi hidden anyway. I want it to look as stock a possible so i did a lot of dremel work on a double din schoche kit to accommodate an unopened liliput right behind it.
The computer is from mo-co-so and liliput from ebay. I built a box for the hatch (pics coming soon) that has one side for a sub (jl audio 10w3) and the other side for an amp and the computer. When the rear seats are up no wires are visible, when they are down you can see the sub and computer gear. My car had a port for a phone interface in the center console, i took that out and put two usb ports.
Good job bro!
Great work. I've got a 2007 ML550 and was wondering how you got around the security system? From what I understand, even changing the stock radio causes problems.
i got lucky because i had no issues with that, i didnt even get "input code" when i disconnected the batt. i had lots of warning lights come on after taking stuff apart, but they all reset them self after a short drive.
Interesting. I would love to put a carPC in my car but the thought of going through all those problems is a bit offsetting espcially since this board lacks some Benz installs. But it's good to know you've had success.
my main goal of the carputer was indash navigation. If i had a ML550 (i think they all have nav) i would probably stick with the factory elegance.
Yea the ML550 does have the stock Nav. It also has the rear entertainment system. The problem I have is that my ML550 can be so much more. A carPC is much better than any stock system out there which is why I want to replace it badly.
Ohhh man I want this!
Any other pics or build pics Hokshi? Just got a c230 kompressor so was thinking about doing this or an android tablet install.
