Incase you don't get my email....
1) how are you hooking up your screen? my video card has tv out (rca)....looks like you are using vga????
2) explain your power situation.....i am stuck b/c I can't get my power inverter to stop making this horrible sound....
if you have any ideas, here are the facts
1) my computer and xbox are off
2) stereo is in AUX mode
3) constant LOUD noise from speakers when inverter is turned ON
4) when inverter is on, can switch to stereo mode...no Inverter noise coming through speakers
5) inverter is Superex brand, brand new...350 continuous, 1100 max
6) have a good ground to the car chasis
7) power is hooked to battery
8) ran an extension cord from the house to try this out, everything works great with NO noise (here the inverter is not being used, power from the house only)...so it is not the stereo AUX mode
9) have tried this with the car on and off
10) the inverter does power items up just fine...???
11) unhooked my sub amp and cables...did not help
12) car speakers are run to the stereo....
13) took the inverter out of the car keeping the wires away from the other wires inside the car.....still makes the noise
I AM AT A LOSS---please help if you can??
Where did you put the on board computer display and controls?
I had the same problem... Ive have been using an inverter untill up OPUS arrives
I found that if you earthed (earth) shields of the audio line in, to the car's earth.
Then the noise went away
I found you could connect both of them together then to the earth with no adverse affects
Hope this helps
sorry man, i am from the U.S. and don't understand what you mean by 'earthing them together'....do you mean you took both ground wires and grounded them at the same place?
thanks,
jmm
Very nice setup you got there! Sweet ride btw![]()
Yes that is the meaning, Earth = Ground in this usage.Originally posted by johnny010
