Uses iPhone, of course [doesn't everything?], so I hope it dies an agonising death. But if you're already committed to that technology...

They have something like this for most PPC type phones. I have no place to stick my phone, it sits in the center console under the door. Plus what happens if someone calls, dont you loose that ability until the phone call is done?

I use to use that with CF. Mine also had a scroll well on the side, which I used to control the volume. i stopped using it though because I would have to take my hand off the wheel to pic it up to change the volume. Also the mouse takes a bit to get from point A to B. In the end touching the screen was faster.

Indeed, touch screen is much more instinctive.
But, I don't have one on my E60, and the scrren is a bit too far from driver.
I guess the best solution might be to integrate all controls to iDrive~
Any idea how to make it?!

Also the color, it looks like something you would find somewhere in a hospital using when they have to call the nurse. If they made it wireless and black, then id be sold. What I use is Windows Media remote with built in mouse. Costs about $5.00 on Ebay.

PS: Moderator, this thread needs to be moved to general hardware discussion. Should not be in the Show Off Your Projects area!
If you don't like the colour just paint it black. That is what i did as i could not find the unit in black.Really works a treat!!!

Well on the day I read this post I did a bid on ebay for the Sony dongle thingy. Well I forgot all about it and today I saw that I won the device for 14.00 dollars. So I guess i'll be adding it soon.
