at the time of building i was strapped for cash. was going waay over budget.lol

plus the one i saw for my car was *only* availabe from japan and it was $600 :-/
**based on my "extensive" google seraching lol

additonally i wanted to stay away from motroized housings. i was advizeded that was yet another aspect of maintenaince if/when it broke.

This fiberglass housing i settled for was $200. a guy @ my job did it for me

    Strapped and overbudget huh?

    Specs :

    HARDWARE :

    Motherboard : GA-M61PME-S2P nForce 430 AM2+ mATX
    Processor : 2.2GHZ AMD Sempron 45w
    RAM : 2gb DDR2
Hard- Drives : 32gb OCZ vertex SSD and a 500gb Western Digital laptop hdd
Power Supply : DSATX 220w with brainstem
Optical view port to other dimension : Lilliput 629 7" VGA Touchscreen 629GL-70NP
    wifi: D-Link PCI Wireless adapter
    EVDO : Verizon MiFi
    GPS : BU-353 Weather-proof GPS Receiver
ODB-II : OBDLink CI Scan Tool
    cheap webcam
    powered 7port usb hub
    3dconnexion "mouse"
    joycon carpc
    "rugged" cigarette usb "extension"

    SOFTWARE:

    OS : windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
    Front-ends : Centrafuse 3.1 and winamp (skinned)
    Garmin Mobile PC.
    Scan Tool ODB software
DashCommand OBD-II Software wth nissan GTR skin
    google chrome
    skype
    google talks.
    1) That could have been done later, security is more important IMHO
    2) Virgin Mobile Internet is likely cheaper or how about pairing your cellphone to your carpc?
    3) I like Centrafuse but other "budget challenged" builds have opted for Ride Runner which would have saved you $100+.
    4) Isn't IGO cheaper?

Motorized things don't automatically fail, how old is your home DVD player?? Brushless motors rarely fail before the product does.

I think its a better option and looks a ton better mostly because there's nothing to look at until its being used.

    My .02 centavos
