M-Audio Sonica...Listed in desciption. Much better than onboard, or so I think. No noise AT ALL, emulated 5.1 surround with voice enhancement, small, generates no heat. I like it. It was worth the $60.Quote:

I still don't think it has the bass response that, say the CD player has (this thing still drops like biatch, though) or the response of an Audigy 1/2 card has but Right now, for the money, nothing seems to be better...

During usb device enumeration, the device itself tells windows if it is in the HID (human interface device) class. HID's include mice, keyboards, etc.
It sounds like the firmware of these devices are describing themselves as HID's.
I was annoyed with the Epia-M onboard audio. I found it to sound flat and generally lack high and low range.Quote:

I picked up an Extigy 1. It has really good audio specs and sounds much better. I just wished they would have made the MIC input stereo so I could have 2 mixed inputs. I need two audio in's ( external FM radio and XM radio have line out audio). I guess I'll have to premix them.
what PCI Riser did you guys use? My Extigy is not working with my board...nor is any other pci card...i think have a faulty mobo :(
The extigy is an external device connected via USB.
Maybe you are thinking of the Audigy (somewhat similar specs, but internal PCI)
As for your PCI problem. Does the PCI card work without a riser?
