1999 vw golf install

hi all
this is my second carputer install in my car
compnnents
1-Dg45Fc motherboard
2-2.8 ghz intel core 2 duo
3-2 gb ram
4-m3-atx
5-m350 case
6-320 gb hd
7-globasat bu-353
8-directed hd-radio + mitch cable + usb2serial cable
9-andrea usb-sa external sound card + array mic
10-usb gprs modem
11- bluetooth

for the screen as i want the oem-look
i choosed
1- liliput 629gl
2-bybyte double din frame
3-metra 95-9012 double din adaptor

i have made a trial on the install here are pics of what i achived
first the screen fits awesome in the dash

i should move the radio behind the screen cuz i have terrible rfi with it beside the pc

so what do you see,?? accepted install??

this install isn't complete yet just the main parts are installed usb-sa still not installed
i will get a usb wireless card to install 2
i have a tiny kb to be in the center armrest
a usb hhub to be between the 2 seats
any way i want to find time to complete it

Personally i would move the computer and amp and all that other stuff to the audio cubby on the left side of the trunk. I don't like seeing wires. the cleaner the install the better.

when i had a HD radio i had to put it as close to the stock radio location for it to work properly. so moving it to behind the screen should work out much better.


otherwise nice start. but i think you have some more work to do

i still have a lot of work to do
waiting till i made up my mind on how completely it will work, & will clean the install as much as i can , i mentioned it was just a trial i haven't time to clean wires & uses right cable lengths
the pc will remain in it's location cause i need a good ventilation over it , quite sure i will add some fans over the case as temperature here in Egypt rises & will reach 40 Celsius soon at witch if i used the compartment the PC will burn as soon it will turn on
still will rethink the whole setup, probably i will use the dash cup holder as CD ROM tray like what you have done..
as i said i still have alot of work to do but still dont have time .banghead
also it's my second install in a period of 2 monthes:second:, never worked with pc's before in cars.

very good. i see that you have a core2 duo. i know the intel chips can get very hot before they start freaking out. most intel chips now days only start shutting down because of heat are normally in the 70c range. so 40c is nothing. i have tested my computer up to 50c when i had my GTI. but thats as high as i saw it get. and it worked fine.

you are right but i meant that if the temprature is 40 outside car in the closed trunk it vwill reach 60 or 70 without problems
so if there are no other ventillation i will hang & wont work
