I know that this PC isnt too integrated into my truck, but I like it that way. I have always been interested in the cop car laptops and thought it was cool looking to have the laptop right there so thats why I did it the way I did. Its just an Dell Inspiron E1505 with a motherboard Gelaskin on it 'cause it looks cool. Its mounted on a JottoDesk laptop stand. Under the passenger seat, I have a cobra inverter that is hard wired to its own battery under the hood so I dont have to worry about my battery running low when I keep it on and the vehicle is off. The inverter runs the laptop, a Sprint MiFi card, and an iPod touch. From the laptop I have a audio cable running down and behind the kick panel on the passenger side that goes to the head unit, which is a Dual, and it has an Aux input. I have a Kensington lock on the laptop that runs down and wraps around the base under the passenger seat for security (although I rarely leave the laptop in all night). The MiFi is in the glove box mounted in the back, and powered with the inverter. This power cable also runs behind the passenger side kick panel. On the left side of the steering wheel, there is an iPod touch mounted on a ProclipUSA mount, and a power cable running behind the dash, down the pass side kick panel, and to the inverter. There is an audio cable that plugs in with it, but there is too much noise when it is plugged in with the power cable so thats an issue to work out. All the cable leading to the laptop are wrapped in a split wire loom to keep it all together. With the iPod touch and laptop connected to the MiFi, I can use the iPod touch as a remote to iTunes on the laptop using the Remote app. I can also run Pandora and stuff like that on the laptop. There are still a few things I want to do, like maybe add a USB hub or external DVD drive to the empty space under the head unit. Let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions or comments!
