Thanks for the fiberglass link. I registered on the site and browsed some of the posts. My center console is a joke compared to some stuff on there! But looks like i'm going to learn a lot there!

Your welcome. I have been reading (studying) that site for over a year now and will soon take the plunge to start my console. There are some extremely talented people there, a lot of pros doing it for a living and they are more than happy to help as long as you search first, just like here!

I'm just wondering becuase I am covering mine with fiberglass and it's becoming a lot of work, and your design makes me wonder if it's possible just to primer and paint mdf enclosures without covering them?
No, I want to use flocking/leather combination, but I'm not sure yet.

I want my environment to be product of me.

Ok, finished wrapping top half with speaker grill cloth and resin. Also applied resin and fiberglass to one side. Once it hardens over night, i'll trim it back and start on other side.

Probably look a lot better once I sand and paint

God I hate you.... Is this your first time doing this? Looks like your doing great, I really wish I had the enthusiasm to attempt fiber glassing, even though my big projects look easy.

Thanks! I'm happy that I'm making some sort of progress instead of letting it sit around like a lot of my projects. I did make some smaller kick panels a long time ago. They were very simple. so I know the motions, but i'm by no means an expert. I figured this was the best route vs vinyl becuase I have absolutely no experience there and didn't want to shell out the money for somebody else to make it. Especially since my car needs new tires and that's gonna set me back quite a bit. Oh yeah, not to mention I just had some unauthorized transaction from a sporting goods store in Paris, France post to my account for $604. Good thing my bank called and put a block on my card, only thing is I think this transaction is gonna push through. Bank said I wasn't responsible and can fill out paperwork to get the money back if it does post. Either way, it's still tying up fund in pending status.

That sux.... thats why I only use a prepaid credit card and keep low funds on it. Only time there is a lot of money is when I am buying Car PC stuff and even then, I wont load the money till I am ready to spend it 15 minutes later. I also have all my automatic stuff come out of the card. I actually rent to own my rims and tires and their system is constantly trying to pull more money off my card. Also one time I went to taco bell and when I got home I had 7 charges from the k-mart down the street, but because it was a low balance, all were declined except $20.00 dollars in gas they got at a gas station, which I got back in the next hour.

Funny you say that, the unauthorized transaction happened after I went to taco bell for lunch.

But I wouldn't be surprised if some keylogger got it too. I remember keying my CC info at a public campus computer tuesday night on break from class to add funds to my parking pass. That and I do buy a lot of things online at home, so It could have happened there too. I updated my PC virus def and did a scan last night. Haven't checked it yet.

I just hope it doesn't happen again....

Trimmed the excess off the sides with a dremel, then glassed the back and top.

Started to cut out the inside with a dremel when my battery died, so I turned it on it's side and started to smooth it out with short strand fiberglass filler, then I ran out of that, so now I gotta wait till tomorrow for my battery to charge and stores to open to buy more filler.

can't wait to get it skimmed over completely then knocked down with a sander
