2000 VW Bora

Hy to all,
here goes, I am from Romania, I own this VW Bora 1.9 TDI 90 HP ALH.
I wanted to have navigation on it, I did not have this as standard so what to do than a car pc.
The car pc is running for almost 2 years now.
I have a touchscreen, fixed, probably the next car pc will have the screen "tilt" mecanism.
All the car pc is in the back wheel in a aluminium case made exactly to fit my wheel.
I am using an asus motherboard with ir (remote control for running diferent aplications), wireless lan, lan, video, integrated in the motherboard. You can see the wireless antenna on the back in the picture with thw car&girl.

Used to drive Scirocco, Jetta, and Golf Wagon ... hmmm, having your pc in the spare tire ... I hope that everything is locked down

Especially if you drive the way I drove my VWs

errr, I do believe I saw 2 big fans under the bubble.

Indeed, there are 2 fans to cool the system.
But the problem is, the air used to cool the system is HOT air.
It only makes the system hotter and hotter~
I have the same problem with my system in my trunk.

Hello all, sorry I traveled for the last 10 days, almost 4800Km
Sistem is going great no heat problems.
Vinchan - Thanks SapporoGuy, and yes the sistem has 2 coolers one facing up an one facing down, so air comes in and out of my aluminum case. And to be shure everyting is o.k. I cleared one hole from VW. My Bora had 3 holes with covers for water pourpous I belive (I think all VW Golf IV and Bora have these holes in the back wheel compartiment)

I have to say one thing I used the pc for almost 5 months without the 2 coolers in summer, of course I was very interested in temperature. But for safty reasons I installed the 2 coolers.

Did not post here for a while, so here goes:

I bought a rear view camera, I will install it after winter passes. It's minus temperatures here in Timisoara, Romania that is.

I have plans to change my carpc, but I still need stuff and things are hard to get here and cost much. I also have plans to make the lcd tilt... hope I succed
