2000 Chevy Blazer: 1st time 'puter

Originally my bro was the one to start this project for his vehicle, but it got turned over to me. The truck is a 2000 2dr Chevy Blazer Z85. It pretty basic in terms of hardware at the moment, but I will be building a new CPU in the next month or so, just need to find money for the memory and psu.

    Specs:
    Pioneer 6000UB
    Hifonics Speakers (Front)
    Lilliput 7" Molded
    Acer Aspire
    Carnetix P2140
    MJS Sirius Adapter
    Centrafuse 3.2
    Griffin Powermate
    OBDII Scantool
    Sirius SCC1 Tuner
Audiopipe Power Wires, Connectors & Distribution Blocks
    False Floor

    The Truck

Relocated the CD Player to the center console

    False Floor

Griffin Powermate on the custom made panel

    USB hub on the dash

    Molded Monitor

Very very nice! Can I be his brother too? Does he have any more vehicles to give to brothers?

Have you considered ditching the head unit and going straight to amp(s) with the audio?

Lol no he did not give me the vehicle. He started gathering stuff for the system and I finished obtaining the rest and putting it in my truck. Yes the headunit is only there for budget purposes at the moment. When I redo the audio system I will be running str8 to an amp. I'll be running Hifonics comps front and back w/ either a 5 or 4 channel Hifonics amp. Hopefully sometime by the end of the year, but right now the priority is to ditch the Acer laptop.

Oh, gottcha, I had to reread your post, I see it does suggest just the system, not the vehicle was passed along.

Your priority to replace the laptop first is probably a wise one. I am already thinking about moving to a mini ITX from my laptop after my install is complete.

Oh yea I learned very quickly how sucky it was trying to use this Acer for this purpose. No matter what I did it kept cutting signal to the Lilli, I ended up having to remove the whole monitor from the laptop so it had no choice but to use the Lilli. So right now its simply there for testing purposes. Luckily my bro had already bought a motherboard, which is what I will be using.

The panel for the power mate I made on my own and just had the painter paint it. The screen I started but got lazy and just had my painter finish it up. It all depends on the type of vehicle too, some require alot and some very little.

I've decided on the components for the new CPU. It will be an Intel D945GCLF2D board, M2-ATX psu, 1G DDR2 memory, re-use the 40gb HDD out the Acer for now, and a custom built plexi case.

Well I'm glad to report that everything is still functioning great. I'm now running 1GB memory in the laptop and got the whine out of the MJS adapter. I ended up running an additional ground wire directly to the battery. Also upgraded all the ground wires and alternator wire in the engine bay to 0 gauge. It's a bit overkill but I had a couple feet laying around from customer's audio installs. Will post up some pics later.
