Damn that looks really nice as is. No need to have it integrated in the dash itself. They really did a great job on dock and mount.
even looking at it again, it looks really good.
any details about how the installer went about putting everything together(what materials/mounting methods), or is that kinda a trade secret?
you do have a very good point, RipplingHurst. That IS a remarkably clean dock install. I've just always favored an OEM-like appearance.
I'm considering something like this. I might have missed something in this thread, but what is your setup between the xoom and the amp? Are you using anything in between like a DAC? Or is it just headphone jack to amp? Do you have any noticable clarity sound issues?
Like the mount by the way too, its definately on my list now.
Nice! This just so happens to be how I am planning my Galaxy tab mount. Not too shabby. I have my audio all bluetooth integrated so the only cable will be the USB power.
Looks great! I am going to want one of these docks for the iPad2. Nice clean job. No dangling wires etc...
I saw a video on youtube of installing an iPad 2 mount in a Ford F150 the result was sweet. except that you have to lean all the way over if you wanna be in the frame for facetime. That's the big advantage of putting the tab on a swivel mount as opposed to having 100% integrated into the dash.
I take it the tablet is held in the dock by friction. Now that you've had it in for a few months, do you notice it getting any less secure?
I'm always concerned that the more you use a friction dock, the looser the hold becomes. That's why I like a dock that grabs and locks my tablets in place. Even then, I've had one dock that eventually became misaligned from continual use to the point the where the peripheral connector sometimes doesn't seat fully.
