So my amp has been out of commission this past week. I suppose you get what you pay for. In any case, I ordered another amp and remote. We shall see what happens. I do have a work around which may get me by until I receive my new remote.

I have been pressed on looking for a mini amp with a remote. I think if I still have problems with the amp that I have then I will just settle with a regular 2 channel mini amp but will add on this universal connector below for controlling volume/bass.

I may consider an amp like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/MINI-2CH-500W-MO...item33697ec6b5

The only thing about these things is they are always in China or Taiwan. I did find one US seller but I want to make sure that it has a low and high pass filter. In addition to USB port for charging (more of a luxury than anything).

Hey first off excellent thread and I'm also about to start down the same path you've outlined in this thread. I have a 2011 WRX Sedan, a rooted Sprint Galaxy Tab I picked up off woot.com, and my rooted HTC Incredible that I plan on integrating together in the vehicle when on the road.

My stock head unit allows both devices to connect via Bluetooth. I tested streaming music via Bluetooth and called my Incredible from my fiancee's cell... it worked fine. My issue I found was that I couldn't figure out a way to get the tablet to restart the music once I hung up. I recently bought Tasker for the sake of having that in my arsenal... just in case, but I don't think I can use that for my problem.

I'm torn if I want to actually remove the OEM head unit and replace it with other equipment to achieve this setup, or find a way to do this without removing it... either way, nice write-up.. wanted to join to give you props! Going to watch this thing come together.

For some reason I missed your post. In any case, I think it depends on the app you are using for music. For example I use Mortplayer for music and when I was using my phone in my car before my tablet it would pause the music then resume after the call was done. I don't think I even had to specify this action for the music it just worked that way. Getting rid of the headunit is bold but works for me because I never...ever used it except for connecting my phone for listening to music from my phone. I don't listen to CD's anymore (haven't for a long time). I use Tunein app for radio (which works flawless and awesome for me in the car). So I don't miss my headunit at all.

However, if I ever needed to I can reinstall my stock headunit because I have not cut or modified any of my stock connections or dash.

The ebay seller for my mini amp contacted me and stated that they can send my two whole sets (amp+remote) and I only have to pay for it as one unit. Awesome! That's what I'm talking bout. Hopefully I won't have to worry about the new breaking on me but cool nonetheless.

In the midst of the madness I am starting to rig up a second design for my mount. Imma play around with a solution to mount it behind the dashkit and modify the bezel so that I can remove the tablet from my car. I know there are tons of ways people have already done this so their examples help. We shall see what I come up with. This is no rush for me since I am satisfied with my current mount. I figure it will be fun to mod a lil sumthin sumthin.

No problem, I think it's because it was towards the end of the last page :]

Perhaps I'll try that and see if it makes a difference.

Yeah I don't listen to the radio because half the stuff on it doesn't wet my appetite for good music. I use my head unit for connecting my iPod via USB and the Bluetooth system. I want to detach myself from the iPod Touch since I now have my Galaxy Tab, so this thread has certainly provided me some ideas. I think I'm just going to use my ProClip's mount that I currently have my Incredible in when driving for the Tab with the appropriate holder for it. I think since my car is new I'll hold off on ripping apart the dash in hopes of doing something custom with it, but once I get a general proof of concept down and tested I may go down that path.

Got my windows tinted today. I have to let this dry for a week then I will have my second layer on.

I received my LED interior lights and my volume switch...I'm anxious to get this stuff installed..off to wash my car now as an excuse to play with my new toys.

Sent from my ultimate Galaxy Tab using tapatalk.
