I like the split screen mirror and camera idea, keep up the good work!
I have the 8" galaxy tab. Yes you can multitask with it. I really dont need nav in the same sense as others. google maps is all i need. My main use is music and internet. But it can be whatever you want which cool about these projects.

Tonight I am going to work on some finishing touches for my tab mount. Ever since I got my tablet I have not needed to use it anywhere else other than in the car. So I decided not to worry about modifying for removal of the tablet. With that said I am going to work on covering the spaces and the corners on the mount. See the picture below so you can see what I mean. Fortunately this is a minor touch up, but the trick is with this design I actually need the tablet inserted so I have to be careful and cover up my tab....just a lil newspaper and I'm good.

Just showin some progress. I'm letting this sit with the adhesive. Then I need to attack the corners and bring on the epoxy. Then some fun sanding, touch up then finally paint.

What would be really cool if these aftermarket dash kit manufacturers start taking tablets into consideration rather than just headunits. Life would then be grand. If they made double din kits for mounting 7-8" tablets and also ones for 10".

I was doing some research about LED upgrades for my car because in my last car I installed LED blinkers and a few other ones. I didn't really know much about it then but now I learned that I need either resisters or LED compatible flasher relay which prevent the hyper flashing which is what I had going on with my last car. So now that I know " and knowing is half the battle.." I prefer to get an LED compatible flasher relay but there may be challenges with that for my year altima. I may end up just sticking with resisters.

Here are a few more progress pics. I decided to just use wood to shape the frame because it's simple. Next step will be paint..

Wow...I had to do a lot of sanding. I still need to smooth things up a bit. I may go get some more epoxy to fill in some imperfections then sand again.

I've decided to use bondo to clean up, fill the imperfections and smooth it up. I won't need much so it should be all good. You can see the imperfections in the pics below. I will have undo the paint though.
