Thread: 2009 Altima Dash Mount Android Tablet PC

Ever since I got my heat gun I've been looking for reasons to use it. Since I am going to vinyl wrap my car soon I figure I would start prepping it. Yesterday I got off work early and decided to de-badge my car. I removed the Nissan logo and decals from my trunk. Here are my before and after pics.

My next plans "hardware-wise" will be to install an Optima yellow top battery for exclusively powering accessories. I want to fab some USB ports that will connect to the battery. I found online USB ports with +/- wiring for such an application. I also plan to soon install the connect2car Anywhere G2 with the bluetooth module. I am still researching other products with similar functionality to compare.

I also plan to install an IP cam (inside of car) that will use the wifi hotspot from my tablet. I am considering the Tenvis mini IP Cam because it has mobile apps or mobile web for control and capturing.

Hey I was just wondering where you got your first tablet holder? Love the install by the way it's helped a lot I'm going to do this but with a bit playbook.

Which one? The swivel holder? That was Samsung holder designed for my Samsung Galaxy tab. With the current mount all I did was modify a double din aftermarket kit. You could even fabricate one using acrylic sheet, heat gun, patience and imagination

Yes the swivel one? I need mine to be fully removable though so I can update it and use it in the house.

Thanks for the updates! I've been following this thread, just reading and reading to gather as much info as I can. I'm thinking around my birthday time (Early May) I will hopefully be able to pick up my tablet and EQ to start my project in the SER. Keep the updates and pics coming! :-)

P.S. that carbon fiber wrap looks gooodd!

Yeah the swivel was cool. That one is designed for my tab. You could fab one with acrylic. I found that I never used my tab out of my car so chose to install it for only in the dash...I did purchase it exclusively for my car though.

Thanks! Yeah this project really morphed over time. I'm working on integrating ip cams next.
