hexx - Can you elaborate on the route you took to run the usb to the center console for power?
I have a USB cable ready to go.. But can't figure out how to get underneath the center console cubby. How does it come out?
I should have my car by thursday. Can't wait. I miss it. Its been pain having to actually use a key to open the door and turn the car on. Yes I actually have to not only put a key in the ignition but I also have to turn it. This rental car is killing me
So there are built-in tablet headrests out there. I don't think I need to get anything fancy for the headrests. I think my only requirement will be that they at minimum are Android 2.3+ with built-in wifi. My dash mount tablet has the wifi hotspot that the headrest tablets can connect with when needed. I don't need them to turn on with ignition because about 95% of the time I'm the only one in my car.
The link below is what I've been seeing available online. Although Voxx (formerly Audiovox) is supposed to be releasing a new android headrest tablet with optional dvd sometime this year. It will be interesting to see how that is.
Here is an example of what's out there and I've seen others available online:

After all this time this setup has been very convenient for me. I purchased my tablet with the intentions of using it in the car. I found that I never really used it in home because I could do all the same stuff with my smartphone.

So the MP3Car store has this cool OBD Interface that would be a nice upgrade to the PLX Kiwi that I currently have. I may consider purchasing this though it's not top on my list right now. The con about the PLX Kiwi interface is that I am not sure it's safe to leave it powered on which is not convenient because I have to turn it on all the time when I want to use it. Not to mention the cable is not too cool, but I have it hidden. The OBDLink MX Scan Tool in the store is not only bluetooth but markets that it can remain plugged in and has a sleep function which may be more convenient.
