for those who might be interested im using foxfi for my infrastructure hotspot but not sure if it requires root. i know sprint cell phones block people from finding on google play but its still available for download through their own website.
No. That works fine. I was referring to BT audio (A2DP) and Handsfree (HFP). My receiver supports both profiles but only one device can be connected at a time. So I had to choose either my tablet (A2DP) or my smartphone (A2DP/HPF). I chose to just have my smartphone connect using BT and have my tablet connected using the jack. Maybe there are receivers now that can support multiple devices connected for audio simultaneously, but I don't think it's so much the device as it is the BT technology.

ive also been considering using the slingbox solo or an older version to get my backup camera on the tablet, have you come across a similar solution?
I am not sure about that box. Looks like something for managing your television viewing/programming but I think you have to be on the same network. In any case not sure how you would use that with a backup cam. I went with a different solution and made my camera setup independent from my tab.

Looking very sharp! I've been following your mods. Keep up the great work! SNO
Much props on all your work.
I been wanting to install a tablet on my truck for some time now.
Then finally went and got the Nexus 7
been doing research and found this and been reading it for a few days.
Planning on fixing some stuff on the truck before actually installing the tablet.
But one thing that I was looking for was a device that will allow me to connect my phone and tablet thru Bluetooth. Haven't had any luck.
But I was thinking that it might be possible to have two Bluetooth devices that connect to car speakers To make it work.
One for phone and other for music
I created this brief video today in response to many questions I had in my YouTube channel. I thought I would share it here.

Coolio. You just need to get a bluetooth module of some sort. I would suggest one that supports both protocols, HFP and A2DP. The challenge I had is while I can pair multiple devices, only one can actually be "connected" at a time (referring to audio). This is more due to the bluetooth technology, not so much the device. So I chose to connect my phone to the bluetooth for HandsFree and my tablet audio connected using the jack.
Now that I have the Tablettalk app (which I totally recommend) I can manage my phone calls using the tablet even though the handsfree audio is technically streaming through the bluetooth to my phone. So that helps close the gap.

I forgot to mention that the other cool thing is that since my phone is paired it serves as a backup in case I take my tablet out for some reason, for example, I wanted to work on it or other mods. I can still use my phone for music since my bluetooth module supports both protocols.
