Looks interesting, can you mount the swivel further back, so it's not sticking out as far, or do you want a wide range of motion so you can point it at you more?
Also, it might be easier to make it look factory if you mount the acrylic behind the faceplate and build up, instead of shaping the acrylic down.

My tablet has a full charge so I am simulating a situation where I am leaving it mounted with the screen light off and the Tunein app launched. It should hold a decent charge for a while (a work day at least) if no extra data is streaming or apps are being used. I could just close all of those things before I get out of the car but that manual process would get old after a while....although I could just use the task killer for that with just one button

I use Tasker, configure it so when USB power is on, it starts your apps, and when the USB power is off, it closes the apps.

So I'm up all late working on my dash kit...hey I'm on vacation what did you expect ?

I cut the acrylic so that it fits inside of the double din opening. I also used some acetone to melt the ABS plastic in some areas to help re-enforce and strengthen the dash kit.

These notched are what I am melting with the acetone for re-enforcement. Note that this kit already has been assembled with plastic adhesive.

Wow I finally took the film off. Its a nice snug fit...but not too snug. I have plastic adhesive around the edge. Tomorrow I will use some scrap acrylic and add some more re-enforcement to the window from the back.





I also plan on painting this.

I cannot mount it back further without having to modify the front of the kit because of the power cable and the samsung mount. Ironically I do have more clearance than I thought when I was testing my model. So the power cable is no longer an issue. I want the flexibility of the swivel. I will most likely use landscape pretty much all of the time but it's nice to have that option to swivel if I wanted to. I noticed that most of the tablet mounts I've seen on youtube (except for one I think) or here in the forums, they're all stationary. That's boring to me.

I will have to check on that Tasker app.

I checked the acrylic this morning..man that stuff is solid. I'm not sure if I need other re-enforcement.

These are the pics with the acrylic and tablet mounted. I am impressed how solid the acrylic mounted over night.

Purchased my black paint and scratching pad for the dash kit.

So unless I find a better one that is at least LED backlit (doubt it) then I plan on getting this mirror for my rear view and side view camera inputs.

The brand is Evervox. I bought it from ebay (Evervox EV-10200T) but I am sure you can find simular ones online at other shops. I like this one because it has built in 3-way split video but you can assign any camera input to any spot or use just one view that takes the whole display. I think it's a decent quality monitor/mirror.

I just sprayed the first coat of paint on the dash kit....with it's so hot outside (shy of 110) I would not be surprised if its mega dry already.
