How is the system when playing .avi's, .mkv's etc? What video playing software do you use (vlc? kmp?)The processor is powerful enough for video?

I was thinking of a Sandy Bridge mb with i5 2500 (for the HD3000 on-die gpu), but if yours is good enough.....

Hi, this system is enough for playing video, listening music, gps routing and video camera registration at same time. and it will not load processor fully. I have installed system with Intel i-3 processor and I think it is not necessary for such type of systems, but if you have 30 inch display then i3 or i5 with discrete video card will be good.

All movies playing through Centrafuse with using KL codec.
Also I like new platform AMD fusion with embedded video! It's more powerfull than Intel atom 525 and NVIDIA ion.

One inquiry: I see from this pic that you mounted the PC in the trunk. How easy was this process? I have to mount the amplifier in the same spot you mounted the computer, and I wonder if there is any special technique that's required for our Camrys...

Hi! It was not difficult. I took PC to the trunk to see where I need make 6 holes. Then I drilled holes for screws. Also I used pucks to align the mounting height of each screw because the mounting plane is not ideal in the trunk.

How is your radio reception. I have my carpc in the trunk of my camry and i ran a antenna to the back and the reception is horrible. Not sure what it is, crap cord or something else. Directed HD is my radio

Thank you! Of course this adapter will work, but you need to connect resistive buttons for it. I will send you PM about where you can get it.

Our radio work good. It's located in the front near factory antenna connector. Reception may horrible because radio located near carpc, automotive power adapter may give electric noise and I think that radio should be located in maximum distance from pc.

You've given me some great insight, i'm in the planning stages. few questions.

1. So you said you replaced the processor with an i3? how does it compare?
2. I'm looking at this lilliput http://www.lilliput.cn/FA1012-NP.html only problem is its 250 cd/m vs 350 like yours. Do you think it woudl be suffidient, i really want a 10 in!
3. I can't find your exact dash kit and the button adapter for here in the states, can you help me out?

1. I tried to install Intel i3, Intel Atom and AMD Zacate to carpc systems. All processors inside car will do their work normaly without freezing but sometime you need more processor performance. Intel Atom and AMD Zacate will take low power, Intel i3 will take more power from car battery. You will need to install Intel i3 or i5 only if you will want to run hard applications like WinCE or Android emulators or you plan to capture video from more than one webcamera or maybe to run new 3d games etc...

2. FA1012 is good monitor and I think you will not fill uncomfortable while using it with 250cd/m. If you want 10" then it will be best monitor.

3. If you have buttons and they are resestive then I have some adapters for it, but software is on Russian language, I can translate in to english via email. If it's ok for you then I can help you to get it.
