How do you control the stereo now that the you have the display in place of where the original stereo controls were?
Actually, I keep the old controls in the glovebox should I ever need to connect them to change anything. I fed the ribbon cable that connects to them through the CD slot, so all I need to do is pull it out and plug it in. Generally I haven't needed to do this, since I set the stereo to AUX input, and do everything via the mac mini (radio/music/nav/etc.).

resurrecting a kinda dead thread but i want to be certain....
you swapped out the speedo cluster, but plugging it into the STOCK wiring harness, the speedo is still fully functional?
like, it registers speed correctly, and all the various lights within the trim above and below the screen cutout still work? im talking like fuel gauge, check engine lights, fasten seatbelt lights, etc.
with the same wiring harness that came in the non-nav-equipped stock car?

if so, that's extremely good news and i'm going to have to attempt something like this immediately....but with an android tablet

According to post 15 of this thread, everything was 100% functional.

If you do this with an android tablet, please let me know which tablet you use. I just picked up a 2010 Clubman and am considering doing the same thing.
