    Sony Ps3 to carpc

FINALLY FINISHED THE CONVERSION AND MANAGED TO USE EXISTING PS3 TOUCH SENSOR ON/OFF BUTTON. I HAD TO MAKE A TOUCH SENSOR(compacitance) SWITCH MODULE TO GET IT TO WORK WITH PC. COSTS APPROX. $12 IN PARTS FROM JAYCAR ELECTRONICS(AUS) AND TAKES LESS THAN AN HOUR TO BUILD. IT TOOK 2 ATTEMPS AS I NEEDED TO ADD A RELAY TOO. I MADE A VIDEO DEMO OF THE SYSTEM AND TEST THE ON/OFF BUTTON.

I HAVE ALSO POSTED SOME PICTURES OF HOW THE SWITCH IS WIRED AND PARTS NEEDED BELOW IF ANYONE ELSE IS INTERESTED IN DOING THE SAME.

You did a great job! What are your temps like in your car?

Temp was a worry as we had some days here reaching close to 40c at the time of build. So far there has been no problem with it sitting in the boot of car. The m/b temp sat around 45-51c and cpu temps around 60-65c. I have 2 little fans that will fit inside should it need more cooling but i know it will be fine as my current carpc has the same specs as the ps3 carpc, but has less air intake/outlets and it works perfectly. I would have loved to have used the original ps3 fan. But i couldnt use it with the m/b i used.
