2006 Mustang gt Worklog nook color (lots of pics!)

Hey everybody, it has been a long time but I thought I should post a work log of my nook color that I just finally finished. I posted this setup a while back but was only installed in the car and not complete. Here is how it all went down.

First off here is my ride at infineon raceway ( i drag and circuit )

At first I rooted the NC with phiremod (now Im using cynogen 7.2) then proceeded to take it apart.

Here are the connections for volume, power, home...

Due to the dimensions of the NC I wanted to make my own buttons for the setup so I extended them.

All worked great without a hitch (btw I dont have a pic of the home button here but I had a small momentary switch that I used to extend since the original home is a surface mounted one)

Here is where I made the front bezel and tested it out with the faceplate.

Here is a shot of the back so you can see how it is mounted, just a few brackets of plastic so nothing to fancy.

After a lot of toying around with software that works great for the car and now having a bluetooth dongle for gps (i use my cell for hotspo) it works amazing! Here is the finished product.

This unit is powered by a small 75w ac adapter from radioshack and my sound is managed through my clarion equalizer. The speakers are powered by two 2ch motor cycle amps behind the tablet. Hope you guys enjoyed this short worklog, also to note, since I get tired of things quickly I am selling this setup so I can make another one with a transformer prime or a huge screen as an external touch screen for a phone.

Cool to see another nook color install. Looks great. Do you have the nook color tweaks app? It really helps with the somewhat pathetic sound output of the nook color along with a lot of other tweaking options. Have you tried a bluetooth obd2 adaptor with torque yet? I just recently posted my nook color install in my 350z. Thumbs up for an awesome install.

This install is kind of old actually, was done shortly after they released the device. Yeah I saw yours and use poweramp as well but only for the vast amount of options with widgets and such. The software equalizer doesn't compare to the clarion that I got new for 50$ shipped on ebay (normally 150$). I suggest you get a bluetooth gps dongle, they go for like 10-30$. I got mine from ebay for 10$ and works way better than tethergps. I suggest Holux as a brand. I would love to get an obd2 adapter but I am broke just like every college kid.

Nice install. I'm doing something similar with an HTC Evo View 4G, but I am keeping the tablet removable. Looks good though thanks for posting the photos and write up.

I have a r00ted nook color and thought about using it, but it seemed a bit slow. How's it work with several apps running?

Looks great! Seems like the Nook is becoming popular to use for a carputer.

Nice install and clean install. You would think it came from the factory that way.

It works pretty good, I do suggest getting a anti glare protector from ebay or somewhere though. Also for the buttons I just extended the wiring from the originals and tapped into the home button because it is a surface mount.
