hmmm what is flush?

by flush I mean the screen is flat with the dash. One smooth plane. When the latch is pushed in and then pops out, the tablet will be out at an angle. The left side will be further away from the dash, and the right side will remain in place by the hinge.

The latch is activated by the push. granted we "touch" a touch screen, but if you "touch" too hard it would become a "push" and make the left side of the tablet pop out.

I'm sure when the OP gets back to this thread he can confirm or deny if this happens.

for preventing this, shiltz made a small 'lip' at the bottom left that, combined with the bottom of the dock, keep it in place.



I think he made a simple and very smart install! Hope I am able to do the same..

Quick noob question. So you're head unit reads the audio out from the dock? I'm guessing via usb, or does the dock have a 3.5mm ?

the dock has 3.5mm audio out, plus mini-hdmi out and samsung connector to charge the tab.

I believe it was 3 layers I used before it seemed sturdy enough.

Nope, it take much more force to pop the latch out than what I use to touch the screen, so you really have to intentionally be trying to make it pop out for that to happen.

Yup, the small tab on the bottom left plus the dock base on the right hold the tablet in place in the dock itself so it can't come out without first being slid to the left. And also she, not he

However, I am in the final hardqare step and starting to play with software. I got PowerAMP and Tasker, and I'm trying to make some profiles/tasks.
How have you set this up?

The way I have it setup for profiles in Tasker is that I have 2 different profiles.

Profile 1:
State: Power Any (the state for docked didn't work sadly)
Actions:
1.) Widgetlocker unlock (that's the custom lock screen app I use)
2.) Load App: PowerAMP
3.) Media Control: Cmd Toggle Pause

So that unlocks the tablet, launches into PowerAMP and unpauses.

Profile 2:
State: Not Power Any
Actions:
1.) Media control: Cmd pause
2.) Go home (this is because I have Poweramp set to never turn off the screen if it's running and one time I accidentaly threw the tablet without hitting the power button so it killed the battery, when it goes to home it turns off after whatever time frame for that you have set in Android)

I also have a speedometer program I've tried to add to that, but it never seems to kill the app properly and it slowly runs down the battery when it's still running :/

Thanks, I'm trying to understand the full potetinal of tasker with its user guide but it took me a lot of time.

I tried yesterday with a 'docked' state ad it seems to work, but I want to make it more specific: docked and powered (I only have power with key turned on), but I must care of power goes off during engine start.
Something like:
- tab docked and car off: nothing happens
- turn key: power reach tab (and it is docked) but it waits to start
- ignition: power goes temporarily off - tab waiting
- car on: tab docked and power on - tab start

Since we used a home dock, I'll say tasker: "if docked (any) -> go to car mode"
car mode should set several parameters for our use.

Yeah, it really does have a lot of potential, I just kind of poked around the app and figured it out myself though instead of actually reading the user guide

Weird, I wonder why yours works with the docked state while mine didn't, when I set the dock state and docked it nothing at all happened, that's the only reason why I used the Power any state, but that has one drawback, if I plug in the tablet at home to charge it performs the same actions, but since I don't actually do that that often since it's mainly being charged in the car I just have dealt wit it.
