Well there you have it. You found the free air resonance of a rear view mirror and an impact censor. It has to sound good.
New to the forum, yes. New to audio, no. I know your type. Your arrogence is how you build self esteem. You believe your own bull with conviction. You don't understand "your wrong". That's too bad, your install skills show so much promise...not really.is ironic considering how childish your response is.Quote:
get a life and f$%& off, youre an annoying and childish
^there has to be a way to delete this guys posts...
so my patriot pyro 60bg SSD died on me already, less than a month of use (and i updated all the firmware) oh well, 3 year warranty but I could NOT get a hold of the company for over a week so I convinced frys electronics (where i bought it) to exchange it for me even though i bought it months ago. First manager said no way because he saw burns on the connectors (bull*****) so i came the nest day and a lady manager exchanged it no problems. So I am back up and running but I though I would make it more known that patriot makes crap products and may or may not back their 3 year warranty making it some what useless.
I'll have to agree w/ Req and Shoota on this one. Turtle, Your install is ok for a rookie but you still got some work ahead of ya. As for the sub's? You're just flat out wrong. Req seems far more knowlegable in this catagory then most on this forum. Just take his helpful advice and leave it alone. He's right and you're just looking ignorant.
if you even read my thread at all you would notice the initial post says several times that i know the subs are ****ed up but i have many many more pressing issues to work on before I am going to replace subs that still sound fine to me. They could sound a little better if i replaced the rim, cool, its gonna be a hardly noticeable difference when I would much rather rebuild my engine. Learn to read and pay attention.
So for the last time, they sound fine, there is no major distortion or lack of level at any frequency in its range. I am not gonna replace them any time soon, get over it.
ps: constructive feedback? my initial post says they are bad and that replacing these are not on my priority list or within my budget. I am happy with how they sound now and you insist that I should not be? nothing about that is constructive. you probably would not be surprised how little i care who any of you are, I am sharing what I did, not asking for help (for that i would turn to actual professionals). Implying you know who I am.
Please don't take the people who have responded here as representative of the community turtle. The whole idea of this community is to build what you want, how you want it. The fact that a bunch of people came into your thread and basically started telling you how you were doing everything wrong, is just sad. Regardless of how you did anything, the general attitude in this topic is very sad and I guarantee not at all how this forum generally is. I hope you can look past those who have posted here, and continue to be a part of the community and share your progress with us.
That none of these people have more than 20 posts should be a good indicator that they are just as new to the forums as you. Apparently they've not yet learned proper etiquette for online communication. If you can't say something nice, then just walk away from the keyboard. We are all innovators and creative people here, let's try not to run anyone off by being rude.
Also, I think you've done really good so far. Very well integrated into the dash. Does the second battery help the inverter survive cranking, and have you considered going DC-DC?
So another quick update. Mobo went bad. Powered up CPU but nothing else so i took out the old gigabyte that was really only in for testing and threw in the MSi G31TM-P21 and very surprisingly it booted right up without needed a windows reinstall. Although I will reinstall windows at the first sign of a hiccup. Anyway just thought I would update since something has changed. I am slightly worried that low power caused the mobo to be damaged as one night I left the pc on by accident and came out to the low voltage siren from the inverter, everything still worked for a week until i got 2 blue screens then nothing. Now I returned the power switch to the shut down option and just boot up once the alternator is spinning. I am about to do a Type R engine swap and will try to get a more powerful alternator in there at the same time so I can finally feel good about finishing the trunk up. Outside of that everything is great!
Hey, what software do you use for OBDII? I just ordered an ELM bluetooth OBDII and I want to make sure I find the right Windows software for the job. I am hoping that will be easy to set up and get functional.
