Probably no real need for the zip file, at least for the initial PowerON/PowerOFF Profile. Just look through for the tasks. It's super easy. I just configured my profile to SDBs configuration in less than 20 minutes. The only thing I got tripped up on was I accidentally had PowerOFF as it's own task, so it was running independently of the PowerON series of tasks. As a result, I never lost audio =p ... easily adjustable though.
I downloaded the Media Keys app, but I only seem to have buttons for Pause/Play, Stop, etc. I don't seem to see anything in that app for a volume bar. You stated in one of your videos that someone had recommended a "floating" volume bar that was always readily available. Did you ever find out what that was?
Also, do you happen to know if setting "Toggle Pause" doesn't work for the Google Music Player? It seems that powering off the tablet turns the music off without an issue, but powering the tablet on doesn't seem to realize that I had once paused something via the Google Music Player... I haven't tested this yet with Apollo or PlayerPro.
A 128GB micro SD card would solve all of my issues (80GB music library here), but alas, I don't think those exist yet. #firstworldproblems.
kinda, but I dont think I can...I need to be rooted to get it to turn off the display right?...I have tried several times and it doesnt work the way I do it
Learned a lot from this thread. I'm in the middle of setting-up tasker and despite what the very knowledgeable users would say - it's not easy! BTW OP could have exported the profile and shared it but that wouldn't be as much fun/frustrating and eventually learning as if you do it yourself. :-)
The way the OP has tasker running to control the music works fine with Google music, that's because the tablet is not completely shut-down, instead, the display just turns off leaving the tablet in the state it's in at the moment; the battery takes over even tho constant power is removed. So if you program tasker to "pause" the music when power is removed, all you have to do is tell tasker to toggle the pause so the music start playing again. That won't happen if the tab is shut down completely. Did this answered somebody's question or i'm just rambling..? LOL
Anyway, i'm going to remember the trick with those magnets. Nice!
Thanks! Good explanation regarding Tasker. It doesn't seem easy at first, but after you spend some time with it, it's about as user friendly as an app like that will ever be. I didn't need the phone or tablet to be rooted for any of the tasks except for the automated bluetooth connection, which I don't even use any more.
