Thanks! For call control via tablet, look at an app called "Tablet Talk". It connects to my phone over the phone's wifi hotspot and displays all call and text information. You can use the tablet to answer and make calls, and also send/receive texts. You can also use the tablet to toggle speaker and bluetooth headset (or in my case a hands free kit). The external mic is pretty basic. The internal tablet mic is covered up inside the dash, so in order to make voice commands, I installed an external mic since the tablet supports one. Any reason you couldn't go with a gmlan module to convert the wheel buttons? I know they're spendy.
If not stock, what amplifier are you running the signal to?
