I recently finished installing a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 7.0 in my corvette to replace my current pioneer stereo! I'm far from finished, but the initial install is done.

MOUNTING SYSTEM

First, I fab'd mounting brackets out of 1/8" flat steel rods from Home Depot. I bought a cracked console bezel (hence the tape) to use for test fitting. I also bought and murdered a metra double-din adapter from crutchfield.

DISASSEMBLED DOC

I bought and disassembled a Samsung tablet doc so that I could have a very low profile interface connection. The vette left almost NO room to either side for connectivity, so this had to be thought out a fair bit.

CYANOGENMOD AND EXTERNAL MIC

I rooted and installed cyanogenmod10 on the tablet, and bought a right-angle 3-signal headphone jack interface with the electronics and external microphone.

Thanks! For call control via tablet, look at an app called "Tablet Talk". It connects to my phone over the phone's wifi hotspot and displays all call and text information. You can use the tablet to answer and make calls, and also send/receive texts. You can also use the tablet to toggle speaker and bluetooth headset (or in my case a hands free kit). Perfect for my setup.

Yep, neodymium magnets that you can find easily at your local Home Depot.

The external mic is pretty basic. The internal tablet mic is covered up inside the dash, so in order to make voice commands, I installed an external mic since the tablet supports one. This way I can use "Google Now" to make voice commands for music listening, sports scores, GPS directions, etc. Let me know if this doesn't answer your question.

Any reason you couldn't go with a gmlan module to convert the wheel buttons? I know they're spendy.

If not stock, what amplifier are you running the signal to?
