I see I am not alone in the car PC craze

, great site. Custom designed and built system including the custom water cooled PC case. The water cooling allows for reliability on the hottest days. The Wireless net working connects to the house to download any and all MP3, DVD, and MPEG files for play on the 15" LCD display. I have to admit I am a bit jealous of the compact car design with center consoles providing a great place for the 5-7" TFT LCD displays. The 15" is from a desktop Philips unit that I de-cased.
The overwhelming size of the clear acrylic case is for the water cooling multiple drives and the learning curve of using acrylic for the first time. The board is painted with neon paint, water has neon die, UV lights activate the paint and die.

The system will also auto detect open networks while driving along such as Starbucks or Hilton Hotels.

Updated: Decided to build an enclosure for the 15" LCD and ITX system. The rest of the photos are under GMC mobile linux on my site above. As I add new features I will update this post. The final stages of Slackware (linux) wirless to the house server for media file download is complete.

I'm wondering, doesn't your watercooling leak or going to leak while driving (cause of the bumps in the road).

Watercooling systems are sealed. They don't just have an open-top bucket of water

This case just sits on the back seat. I will be building another with a micro ATX with onboard video and sound that will allow for a smaller size unit. After seeing the ease of the fiberglass molding I will next start making enclosures got each component in the system.

I know, but I wonder if the connections of the hoses and the waterblocks stay that way. A desktop isn't moving around, this one is.

Nice, but doesn't the water make it even worse on hot days? Running extremely hot water over your cpu can't really cool it very well. Water cooling only works well if you have low ambient temperature. Unless your cooling the water really well or using a liquid other then water.

I doubt that the hoses would fall off. Usually they are held on with hose clamps. If it is a good kit it will have very deep grooves on the water blocks' hose connectors to keep it snug.

Wether the water cooling is helpful or not is sure looks cool. I would love to do somethink like that. Though however you have it mounted I hope it isn't visible from outside. That think is literally a neon sign asking to be stolen, and I would hate to see that, it is awesome. Great work.
