http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101718 this forum has a great deal of can bus information. I learned a good deal from that thread. I also found out that can bus IDs can vary even from the same manufacturer.

A short update about why there are no updates.
I'm currently visiting relatives and friends out of town.
I'll be back soon, unfortunately my touch panel and controller not so.

    Short update:
Touch screens and multitouch controller arrived today and I've successfully installed everything into MFD2 unit. Medium difficulty, had to disassemble the unit a couple of times till I got everything perfect, pictures with the installation to come. Took a solid 5 hours.
The good news is this touch screen http://ro.mouser.com/Search/ProductD...T010-1301-T691 is a perfect fit, and I mean PERFECT. The other one is 0.5 mm too large, I was kind of expecting that anyway.
The surprising news is that even though the touch screen is not rated as dual touch, it does work with two fingers perfectly fine if you use the nails. The controller must have some magic up its chips.
The bad news is there are no Windows XP drivers for this controller so I must install Windows 7. Hopefully the DTD Calculator will work in Win7.
An off topic note is that this controller works out of the box with Mac OS X even though there is nothing on Fujitsu's site about compatibility with Macs.

Good news dlbogdan, So did you buy and adapter and pins to power your Nav remotely? The pins are male and i cant figure out how to power the device with out using a OE plug.

I purchased a full dash cluster with MFD for $25 on ebay. This way i can play inside and stay warm. I also pulled my sat tuner to see if i can power it and read can bus signals from it. To test code from the arduino.

I am having some trouble finding pinouts for devices. except for the MFD2

No, I just did an ugly hack with some female independent pins and jacked them on the power pins (and SAFE pin).
It's very good that you're working on the red cluster MFD. What I know is that these use the DDP protocol. I hope you'll find some info. It'd be very nice to put some stuff on that screen.
As for pinouts and other info.. No clear site to give you but I found some russian threads about them a long time ago.

I hate that I need to install win7 after having that XP carefully tuned with everything going great... It's a pita companies like Fujitsu dropped XP support for new hardware.

If your DTD calculator will not work on windows 7, i came across this http://www.intersil.com/content/dam/...n74/fn7442.pdf.
It looks like a device that will auto sync V/H.
Im trying to follow what you did, but its hard for me. pin14 on the MFD2 is where you put a single sync pulse? how does it know vertical or horizontal? Maybe my link is useless.

Nice progress I brought a dash cluster as well because it's no fun sitting in a cold car trying to capture data. Going to windows 7 might not be such a bas thing either.

that_kid, well going to win7 it's bad for my hardware as it is. It's an Asus Eeepc 900HA intel atom with 1GB ram and without LCD display.
RHCP, that chip seems to do the exact oposite. Nevermind anyway, there's a much much simplified version of what it needs to be done for V+H to C sync on my 2nd post using one transistor and 4 resistors.
    But that's not the problem.
We need custom resolution and custom timings and that on intel gfx at least is done with DTD Calculator.
    I'll make it work somehow.
The very odd thing about the fujitsu drivers for my controllers is that they install on XP, I can even run the included multi touch calibrator which works! But nothing else seems to work. The pointer stays still.

Back to making a win7 usb stick on a mac .. grrrr
