2002 Subaru WRX Nexus 7 install

Starting a new project to install a Nexus 7 in a 2002 Subaru WRX. From my past experience with car PC install, documentation has helped me trouble shooting problems I have encountered before, so again I'll leverage this forum as my personal note.

Goal: To replace factory stereo with Nexus 7 with minimum wiring and parts.
Currently I'm still on planning stage, I shall update the list as I go along.

    Hardware:
    -------------------------
    2012 Nexus 7 tablet
DC-DC power converter, to charge tablet and provide power for USB peraphrials
    USB OTG splitter
    JVC KDX-310BT receiver
    4 ports USB hub
    Kill switch
    10A fuse
    OBDII scanner bluetooth

    Software:
    --------------------------
    Autodroid running on Kitkat 4.4.4
JVC "Smart Music Control" App to control head unit from tablet
    Apex launcher for UI maybe
    NavFree for offline navigation

Because of space constraint in the original factory stereo location, I want a receiver without CD-ROM so it can be tucked behind the tablet, and since I won't be able to physically access the receiver anymore, the head unit must be able to be controlled from the tablet. Originally I was looking at Sony "App Remote" supported receivers, and they looks promising however they don't have anything without a CD-ROM, so physically they don't fit. I couldn't find too much information on the JVC app but I decided to give it a try since that's my only option without re-locating the receiver.

On the right side of the stock head unit there's a black connector above grounding wire, need to find out what it is.

looks to me like its another ground wire not unusual to have that on a radio. SNO

Yes you are right. Found out it's a redundant chassis ground for head unit that requires emergency brake engaged for certain function like video.
Since I'm most likely to reuse the radio bracket I'll just put it back where it was.
